Has potential but AI sucks ....
In a nutshell .... AI is basically you progressed past "X" so experience this slow down incident ..... none of the nuance of the original .... pretty transparent

Moo oh Moo how i never even played you!
Yes ladies and gentlemen. I say this out loud. I have literally never ever played one of the Master of Orion games in my youth. One could say i was on the Galciv side of life. One could mention i was young but... no matter the reasons, i.... just never did play this game. Q: What does this game offer? A: Strategy in space on a turn based game basis. : Tactical 2 dimension ship combat which can either be A : viewed ( which is actually quite nice ) B : played self ( which is still nice ) C : autoresolved Now i wouldn't go as far as calling this game an 4x, mainly because of its accesible nature and choice of presentation but i do call this a mighty fine game. Sounds can be annoying at times in a way such as unit acknowledgement in any rts game can be boring very quickly. Overall the theme and effects score pretty high as does game enjoyement and progression. With the choice of space lanes for travel and the easy with how you can defend your fledgeling empire its not difficult to understand how people are put off if being accustomed to the constant treat you can find yourself into in other titles such as Stellaris or Galactic Civilizations. Still the game on harder levels is nowhere to be taken lightly. In short ( i've gone over the max words used 2 times already ) If you are a peaceful explorer kind, diplomatic and all i say to you "plz look further" Nerds "be ashamed" everyone "hey game this is quite nice, i would kindly invite you to take a look"

Flat and monotonous
Hi, guys! Not sure if this game worth buying. The only game in it is pressing button "Next turn". U can set almost everything to "auto" (except sending ships and choosing tech) and this will change NOTHING in gameplay. Nothing really matters - whatever planets you colonize, whatever tech u research, whatever vantages planet has this all means NOTHING. Wins the one that built most fleet. And - guess what! - it matters not how u control your fleet. U just press button AUTO - no excitement at all. NOTHING can happen that will really change odds in game. U cannot find supacool superplanet, u cannot make groundbreaking invention, u cannot utilize super-design warship. Everything is the always same... Exapmple: Small planet 10 pops, huge planet 18 pops... I dont think that a game that consist only of pressing button "auto" and "next turn" worth buying it. No drive, no exitement! Everything is monotonous, dull, flat and degenerative.

A very fine game on its own
I really don't get the negative reviews. I played the GOG-Version of MoO for many hours - and it is a very fine game. Easy to get into, without the need to watch tutorials on youtube, and very addictive in the long run. The interface is very well designed, all informations can be found easily, the graphics and presentation are great. It is not an exact copy of the original MoO games, but it is clearly inspired by them. And the RTS-combat can be auto-resolved. So, why the hate? My guess: MoO2 fans wanted an exact replica of the old games... It is not, but its a very fine game on its own.
