Boring with Slow & Unresponsive Combat
Combat is clunky as all heck and the graphics just aren't very good even for a game of this age. The friendly AI constantly gets stuck on level geometry. Voice acting is barely passable. It runs on a proprietary engine but if I didn't know any better I'd say it was Unreal Engine 2. Textures are rather low detail and character models look very stiff. And to make matters worse the framerate appears to be capped to around 80fps and I have no clue why. I'm running the game on an i7-2600K @4.6GHz, with an AsRock Fatal1ty P67 Performance motherboard, an Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB (EVGA SC GAMING) and 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 @2133MHz. Not a brilliant machine, but it sould be more than enough to deliver 100+ fps in a game like this at 1920x1080. Story and characters aren't very interesting in the first couple of hours. Maybe it gets better in the second half of the game but I have no idea, seeing as how I quit out of boredom. The setting reminds me alot of Red Faction, which is a good thing- that's one of the only positive things I can really say about this boring, ugly and clunky action RPG. To sum things up: PROS: -Low system requirements -The Mars setting is pretty cool -Xbox One & Series X/S controller works perfectly -Very, very cheap CONS: -Unoriginal enemies -Slow and unresponsive combat -Muddy visuals; poor lighting and texture work -Lackluster performance (some sort of framerate cap or refresh rate cap) -Sub-par voice acting -Story not all that original or interesting
