Mark of the Ninja: Remastered

I was not all that hopeful when going into a side-scrolling stealth game initially, but MotN proved me wrong. It's a great game with stealth gameplay that allows for a number of playstyles (total stealth, assassin, etc.). Highly recommended.

A truly spectacular game. Usually I try to provide a bit of critique, but here it is pointless. From graphics and presentation, through story and world building to soundtrack and mood, this game is truly flawless. That is not to say that it is the best game ever or my favorite game, but as far as what it has set out to do, and what the developers have actually achieved, I cannot think of a single thing that could be done better. Many games pretend or aspire to be art, but this one actually is. I feel ashamed to have bought this on sale. Will buy again on GOG for full price just so I can thank the developers for making it.

One of my new favorite stealth games along side Styx. I will say I do find the last levels more annoying than fun but everything leading up to that was solid.

the game has really nice 2D stealth mechanics, even though sometimes i feel the user input is a little wonky and the character does stuff you didnt mean to do. but i only have played 1 hour so far so maybe i get used to it

This stealth game is decent and I recommend it in general. However I give it only 2 stars instead of 5 for a couple of reasons: 1. It's a remaster that has experience-breaking graphics bugs. Some graphical elements such as rain drops and gas clouds (and maybe also other elements that I haven't noticed yet) won't load and display at all if you set the refresh rate in the settings higher than 60Hz. My monitor's native refresh rate is 144Hz so I was using it from the start and it was my first time ever playing the game. About 5 hours into the game I reached the last level and only then I realised that something was wrong: rain drops and gas clouds didn't exist at all and the overall quality of the colours was slighty worse comparing to when I played using the 60Hz refresh rate setting. If you decide to buy it then make sure to set the refresh rate to 60Hz from the start! Otherwise you run the risk of getting your game experience ruined just like mine was. 2. The game is a remaster that doesn't have a native GNU/Linux version.
