Beautiful and chill but too incomplete
The game is amazing for what it is and has massive potential but it's very early in development and the progress is glacial: it's been 7 years and it'll likely be another 3-5 years before it's done. I got it at a huge discount so not complaining, but it's not worth the full price. The game is enjoyable and playable though, it has certain charm, it's very chill and you can get lost in it for hours, I played daily for a week but it is incomplete and very far from being done: seems unbalanced and features and elements are missing: skill tree is incomplete, for instance, and many mechanisms are very finicky, like trade, which results in significant frustration, lacks content too and the UI is glitchy. The help is barebones and missing most information, you have to figure out a lot by trial and error. The peaceful mode needs some re-balance as it's tedious to progress without combat The game is excruciatingly slow, I can't play it at x1, I'd lose all interest in it. When playing at x4 or x12 it runs into massive CPU bottlenecks though (not graphics issue) if your town gets big: bad stutter and very low FPS. The ugliest aspect of this game: when you acquire a new region, you start all over, from scratch, even your skill tree resets to nothing, you can't move resources or people in any meaningful way. This is very demotivating and discouraging and makes no sense. Why do I need to barter between my own lands? It makes no sense. Also, barter is weird and possibly broken: you can't set the amount to barter, so it will drain the resource from one region and other times it doesn't work at all. This needs to change. I think I'm done with it for now and will wait for an update. Whenever that might be :)
