Manor Lords is a strategy game that allows you to experience the life of a medieval lord. Grow your starting village into a bustling city, manage resources and production chains, and expand your lands through conquest.
Inspired by the art and architecture of late 14th century Franconia, Manor Lords prioritizes historical accuracy wherever possible, using it to inform gameplay mechanics and visuals alike. Common medieval tropes are avoided in favor of historical accuracy in order to make the world feel more authentic, colorful, and believable.
Manor Lords provides a gridless city-building experience with full freedom of placement and rotation. Building mechanics are inspired by the growth of real medieval towns and villages, where major trade routes and the landscape influenced how settlements formed and developed.
From boots to barley and hides to honey, Manor Lords features a great variety of goods fitting of the era. Materials need to be transported and processed into finished products through production chains, and you must balance the basic needs of your people against the desire to produce luxury items to ensure happiness, manufacture trade goods for export, or forge arms and armor to aid in your conquests.
Yours is but a small parcel of land in a vast territory, and the competing ambitions between you and rival lords will inevitably lead to conflict. Lead your people into battle, not as expendable units to be easily replenished, but as your beloved loyal subjects where every death is a cost worth considering.

Broken toy
Played few times. Tempted to ask for a refund. Bugs on top of bugs on top of bugs. Loading saved game was almost impossible. Now it won't start at all. Good graphics.

Very promising start.
First time I sat down with it I played for eight hours straight. To that and for now I'll just add that while certainly noticeably Early Access a little here and there, the game has been running free of problems and with good performance on a six year old system. That's not something one can expect from even the most well funded game studios. At this stage the game is perfectly playable for dozens of hours of fun.

4/5 Review In Deveploment, Early Access
The game is solid but it is very much an in development game despite being polished and relatively bug free experience. As a city builer it is missing some key features like some form of measuring tool for roads and plots like there is for farm fields, control over who lives in which house so that workers can live next to their workshop/resource, more than one map and some form of cultural supply chain/buildings would round out the game. This is not to say the current city builder mechanics aren't good because they are! This is one of the most natural city builders I have played and while typically my OCD has me building grids, I find myself building around terrain in Manor Lord or using it within my city build. The first person is a great feature too and the envirorment is just perfect. As a strategy game it is missing some features like a built out diplomacy system for dealing with the Baron who is off map, or even a larger map with more that one Baron players could pit against each other as they build an army. A way to take out the off map Baron's economy would be great as well as any other way to mitigate them or handle them without resorting to combat. However, there were moments when the Baron and the Raiders challenged me and there is definently strategy required to win. So, it actually performed well in my opinion as a more basic RTS. All in all the game is good and if you are already a fan of something like City Skylines or SimCity then you will probably enjoy this one too. I will update this review upon full release.
