Description
Witness the rebirth of a genre in Lumo – a classic isometric adventure with a modern twist for gamers young and old alike!

As a contemporary take on the long-lost isometric platform genre, Lumo can be enjoyed by anyone looking for an absorbing, challenging and rewarding adventure. But for those who lived through the golden age of videogames – the 80s and early 90s – or know about the games and culture from that time, layer upon layer of nods, winks and touches to those times help build upon an experience that’s as heart-warming as it is exciting!

With over 400 rooms across four unique zones, six hidden mini-games and all kinds of secrets to uncover, Lumo is a true voyage of discovery. How much you discover just depends on how hard you look…
  • Lumo revives the long-lost art of isometric platforming, while bringing a charm of all its own to the genre.
  • Over 400 rooms will test your skill, each one a self-contained challenge to overcome.
  • The more you look, the more you'll find – from a hugely absording adventure on the surface to all kinds of secrets to find underneath!
  • A true love letter to the golden age of gaming… adventures don't get much more heart-warming than this!

Old Nostalgic style but...

+ Graphics Old school pseudo3D wold Huge Amount of Secrets - Terrible TERRIBLE controls Almost Useless maps (No player's position marked) Die 1000 trial and error deaths, and then some more... I don't know mates... If you can keep calm under these circumstances, give it a try. Otherwise, better get an insurance for your keyboard (or joypad) and your screen, just in case. Or simply stay away. You have been warned. Cheers.

Great Job!!!

First off, playing with a controller is a must as much as it is obvous. I really like how @ the start you get 3 options for controll and a quick test BEFORE getting into the game. It's not a hard game, It's not basic. I did get it on sale for a great price and I really enjoyed it. I'm an old person who has been gaming since CGA. This is a great game for kids. No swearing, no blood, auto saving and re-loading. You can see the pictures above, WYSIWYG. Sometimes it's nice to not get hung up at all and finish something with ease. Low system requirements. Great Job!!!

Exercise in frustration - you die a lot!

I played through just over half the game, which was challenging but eventually it became tiresome with the pixel-perfect multiple actions not going well with the lack of clear perspective of where the character is moving in 3D space. I tried over and over and again on certain rooms, laughing at the sadistic nature of the programmer to make it so difficult in places. In the end I decided "f-this, it's for die-hards" when I got to a level of slippery ice which really took the biscuit with me. I decided that I will just watch a playthrough of the rest of the game on YT instead. What's good? The music, graphics. What's bad? The janky controls and needlessly sadistic difficulty level. Who's this game for? Anyone who wants to be persistently challenged and frustrated from start to finish and doesn't care about the fun.

Opens on wrong display (Ubuntu 22.04)

For games claiming to support Linux it's essential to let the player choose windowed mode from within the Settings menu. (Or failing that, within a config file). There shouldn't be the assumption that display 1 is next to display 0 or even in the same building, or that we can switch off or disable whichever display while we run a game. It may be the OS' fault - certainly multi-monitor on Linux is godawfully bad anyway before any game is brought into the mix, and it has been bad for the whole ~20 years that Ubuntu has existed. But the developers of a game must inherit this problem and work around it. And GOG should have it on the list of things to check before a Linux version is put up for sale.
