Long after the passing of the Second Shadow, when dragons ruled the twilight sky and the stars were bright and numerous, came the Age of the Great Guilds.
Blacksmiths. Shepherds. Clerics. Each dedicated to the absolute control of secret knowledge.
Another such Guild was the Weavers. Over the centuries, their craft transcended the limits of physical cloth, until they wove the very fabric of reality itself. Now, a strange power has swept the Weavers into oblivion, leaving behind one Weaver boy to unravel the mystery. Help young Bobbin rescue his Guild...and you just might save the universe from an unspeakable catastrophe.
An Extraordinary adventure with an interface of magic…
Stunning, high-resolution, 3D landscapes.
Sophisticated score and musical effects.
Detailed animation and special effects.
Elegant point 'n' click control of characters, objects and magic spells.
No burdensome typing, mapping, or inventory management.
An easy and engaging game for beginners and veterans alike.
I HIGHLY recommend everyone to download and print out the book of patterns!
You can fill it out during your playthrough.
It contains a lot of information about the game and each spell/draft.
One of my favourite games, but this version lacks some of the scenes of the EGA version, which I miss dearly. Still, LOOM is a classic that deserves attention even decades after it was created, and it's nice that the Book of Patterns is provided with the game.
I have never heard of this game before it appeared here on GOG. The game mechanics are absolutely unique and I can't quite understand why nobody ever tried to replicate this. Changing the game world with music = genius.
This game is freaking awesome. It came in a pack of 5 games when I was a kid and I played the crap out of it--it's probably the only one of the Lucasarts games I could beat. Playing it again as an adult, I can really appreciate the pixel art, the awesome music, and the great story/writing. I was surprised that it only took me half an hour to beat, too. (Plus, there's a secret cutscene you get if you play through on hard mode.)
One of the great Lucasarts adventure games, unfortunately often-overlooked, overshadowed by its more popular counterparts.
Inventory puzzles are replaced by an intuitive magic system in this high-fantasy fairy tale adventure. The world-building is delightful, with gameplay interactions that support it by including many possibilities outside of what's needed to solve the puzzles and progress the story.
That only makes it all the more disappointing when it ends with a cliffhanger for a sequel we never had. Still, the short-but-sweet experience of the game stands on its own, and is well worth $6.
This version does not include the highly recommended audio drama introduction, but at the time of this writing, that is easy to find elsewhere online.
