Return to a world of charming horror in Little Nightmares II, a suspense adventure game in which you play as Mono, a young boy trapped in a world that has been distorted by the humming transmission of a distant tower.
With Six, the girl in the yellow raincoat, as his guide, Mono sets out to discover the dark secrets of The Signal Tower. Their journey won't be easy; Mono and Six will face a host of new threats from the terrible residents of this world.
Will you dare to face this collection of new, little nightmares?
Overall, I really enjoyed the game, especially the graphics/environment and atmosphere.
However, there were a few things that frustrated me (again, those flashlight passages) or the many platform elements that were sometimes quite tightly timed, which could also lead to some frustration due to the depth perception. (It's easy to get stuck somewhere.)
I prefer the puzzle elements, of which there weren't enough for me personally.
In view of the above criticisms, one star is deducted, resulting in a rating of 4 stars.
After the masterpiece "Little Nightmares I" I was really excited, when I figured out, using the Demo, the second part also runs on my laptop, even with the high minimum requirements given.
The graphics and general atmosphere is astounding, I would say graphically even better than the first part.
But.. for me .. it did not let me become totally lost in the game like the first part. The music, if even really existing, also did not give me the same experience. This game is, by the aspect of music, imo partly too quiet.
And the second part, for me, also had it's annoying parts, especially in the middle of the game, where you get the feeling you can never have a break, one running/fighting/hiding scene after another, some quite hard to control and very tough - where you have to try again and again, sometimes you even don't know what you have to do in the beginning, you have to try it and die.
Funny for me: in the last part of the game it seemed to become more easy. No fighting system anymore, more thinking, running and hiding, finally more like in the first game. The last part I enjoyed most.
The first game I played through without any walkthrough, in the second game here I had to check a walkthrough several times, because I didn't want to redo the scene after annoying 20 times of trying..
For me the second game had a higher frustration factor, especially in the middle part of the game, the beginning and ending parts were more enjoyable for me.
Well, why I still give 4 stars for the game? Because all in all the graphics is astounding, there are still many enjoyable scenes, the story is great, and they still put so much love and details into the game, that I could not give less stars.
The DLC btw is a joke... just a few small, additional rooms in the main game, where you can get a new hat.. wow!1!1! If you want to buy the deluxe edition just for the DLC (like I did) .. don't do it, you will not miss anything! But the game itself still can be recommended.
