Amazing!

This game managed to give me a few jumpscares and feelings of suspense. You wouldn't expect that from a 2.5D platformer but yet it manages to connect with you in a deep meaningful way. You feel as though you are an observer watching the journey of this strange little creature. From the beginning you know that this little friend is quite knowledgeable about the world around them and that begins to hook you in, you watch and observe trying to learn about this story of this one little creature and it is genuinely rewarding when you slowly connect the pieces of its life. From beginning to end this game was pure excitement. There is even some replayability to unlock the secrets you might have missed on the first time around. I would recommend this game to anyone who loves a good playformer and a great story.

keyboard controls not good, iritating,

I was excited for this game and preordered it, I adored Inside and looked forward to this. After playing for awhile I find it irritating, not immersive and not scary or disturbing enough. Keyboard controls are iffy, often times the camera gives little input as to whether you are facing forward, backwards etc and that makes for many failures which increases platform annoyances due to bizarre autosaving. There are lanterns to light to supposedly put you back into action nearer but I dont see any advantage to that, as you invariably resurrect into the game at some earlier point, leading to replaying long stretches over and over till you figure out the 'trick'. Inside was way more generous with save points and limited the irritation factor immensely. Camera angles often obscure your character and what they are doing. The good points of the game is the art style and for that alone its worth it to buy on deep sale. However, the soundscape isnt that good, music is limited and the ambiance sound is not very scary or immersive. disappointing. As for the story.... I havent a clue what is going on, its not scary at all. There are some disturbing scenes but I expected more of a dread feeling from the promos and trailers. The game play is interesting, trying to avoid baddies and explore but once again, actionable areas are hard to find and discern from background art. Many areas look explorable but are not. In fact, exploration is something i started to avoid due to check point saves punishing you and making you replay long stretches. all in all a disappointing offering after the stellar Inside. get it for the art and style but skip it if you hate platforming with wonky controls and camera.

Magnificent!

Hands down one of the best games I played so far. It has got an eerie atmosphere, some very memorable moments and a superb soundtrack. I'm absolutely happy that the developers decided to make the story short (we needed about three hours for the main game and maybe two for the three DLCs), it never felt like it would annoyingly repeat itself (and that's the case with many other games which are needlessly expanded...). The ending of the main game but also the ending of the DLCs are unbelievable. The only downsides I see are the (in some occasions) sloppy controls and the vagueness of the design of some environments (sometimes I couldn't find a way out of a room and thought that I have to solve a puzzle just to find out that there's a little hatch you can climb through...). But these things didn't bother me too much. So it's still 5/5 for me.

A Visually Stunning Short Story

Absolute gem of a game. This is a fantastic story, with no words. Wonderful graphics and effects (I played with all Ultra settings), but even with the settings turned down a bit, it's still great. The physics were / are, one of my favority points in the game. Most things in the game respond to your presence. May things are moveable, at least to some degree, whether necessarily, to assist with completing a section, or just as visual candy. The lighting and shadows, are fabulous. The soundtrack serves to compliment all of the above, and does so quite efficiently, adding much to the emotions felt while playing. The controls are very simple, reducing the possibility of control based frustration. The overall feeling of the game is very intriguing, and a bit creepy. Highly reccomended.
