Description

Mature content notice: Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry contains explicit language, strong sexual themes, partial nudity and is intended for mature audiences.

Hey ladies, I’m back in business! My new adventure, Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don’t Dry, takes me – whatever the route or twist of fate – from the end of the ’80s directly into the 21st century and wow, how the world has changed! While my view of the world and women from way back in the 1980s collides with modern reality harder than the breasts of a lusciously stacked blonde jogging along a beach, I’m all set to date my way across the modern world!

In a “point & click” adventure I’d call typical for the genre we mutually experience how I fall head-over-heels in love with Faith, the hot-to-trot assistant to the boss at Prune, a technology enterprise successful worldwide. Since even dating is done digitally nowadays, the first thing I have to do is to work on my score at Timber, the totally hip, can’t-get-anywhere-without-it dating app where I date women, satisfy their needs, and accordingly pick up points for my Timber profile. And whenever I get a chance in between, always briefly check out a few new bikini pix at Instacrap – the 21st century is gnarly smill!

  • Leisure Suit Larry is coming in the 21st century – and no, there’s no word missing here
  • Explore a lovingly designed, non-linear game world set in the modern world with over 30 handdrawn venues
  • Use “Timber”, the ingame app, along with an innovative dating mechanism to date women, consequently improve your score at Timber, and ultimately clear the way to get to Faith, the women of your dreams
  • Solve true-blue puzzles and interact with over 30 handdrawn characters

The Lounge Lizard is back, baby!

I loved this game and hope we get more from the same guys sooner or later. Why did I like it so much? Because the game manages to capture the spirit of Leisure Suit Larry! It has that same humor and quirkiness that make the older games loved by so many people. It brings the 1987 Larry to our world of Internet. And it does it with a smile and with respect towards the legacy of games that come before it. The nods towards Sierra and Al Lowe are there and are quite clever. The puzzles are mostly logical, but they can still be a challenge, since you get quite a few items in your inventory. There is no hint system, but I don't mind, since hint systems often make games too easy. Still, keep in mind if you really get stuck, you'd have to search for an anwser online. What else? The characters are memorable and likeable, each with a memorable design and personality. You are going to interact with a lot of interesting people, a pair of alpacas and even a gargoyle, so you probably won't be disappointed. I found myself scrolling though the Timber app just to see who comes up next! And speaking of Timber, I have to say the art style in this game is great. I was worried about Larry's design at first, but the moment he opened his mouth, I forgot all my troubles. Sure he's not a gnome anymore, but he wasn't one in the first few games either. This guy is the real Larry for me. The sound is fantastic - music and voice are stellar. There are a couple of times where the subtitles don't match the voice lines though. It would be nice if this gets fixed in a patch or something, but it's not fatal in any case.

This was GREAT!

I've been playing adventure games since 1990, I started with Kings Quest, Space Quest, Police Quest, then on to Monkey Island, Longest Journey, and all the other adventure games in between (even Future Wars! Still waiting for that one GOG!). And since The Longest Journey, no adventure game has really had that 'spark', the kind of experience I used to enjoy when experiencing Monkey Island 1 and 2; so I just chalked it up to me being older and grew out of it. I am amazed that Wet Dreams Don't Dry came out in 2018, how on Earth did this pass me by for 2 years? I was a bit let down by the LS1 remake recently, so I was skeptical about this one but since I am an avid adventure gamer, and I collect them, I was going to bite my lip and try it out. Within minutes of playing I had a REALLY good feeling, it was all falling into place, the music, the in-jokes, how Larry is brought into our times as a means to bring Larry back sensibly, the graphic style, voiceover, the puzzles are sensible but just hard enough that you have to think, it all works so well. I am having a very good time playing this game. I hope CrazyBunch don't stop making adventure games - they have what it takes to get it right, they just need more exposure and maybe better marketing (2 years!!). While playing, I hoped they would make a second one and I see that they have, so I am excited to get it. Thank you so much for bringing not just Larry back, but that fun aspect of adventure gaming, it really has been missing. Lastly, to the other reviewer who mentioned having to go back and forward running errands - that's what adventure games used to be like and it was fine; adventure games can't be too linear or it gets pointless quick.

A Big Disapointment

I usually do not post reviews, I believe that is wrong to be overcritical of the hard work of the development team, we must not forget that most of the time they have to sacrifice a lot of creativity in order to satisfy other criteria such as political correcteness, making the title available to younger audiences etc. But both my disappointment and my dear wish to see more titles in the larry series force me to give some, Constructive I hope, critisism. The story is bot bad but very sort. The content has lost its larryness, it is not edgy enough. As for the tinder like app ... words fail me. I did not feel that it was a bad purchase but certainly I was left unsatisfied

A love letter to the 80s most notorious lady's man.

I liked the old games, up from Larry 1 to Larry 7. They all were politically incorrect, had dirty (and infantile) humor, and fun locations and situations. This newest edition has it too. Of course there are now hot girls with weird sexual preferences, gay people, hipster people, drag queens, smartphones, computers with more than 64 kb of RAM. And the game has fun with all of that! It's refreshing and a nice time travel back to the 80s, a time where everything was possible and not every second person so easily offended. Also, the game, as politically incorrect as it is, never shows an evil side or delves into hate speech. It just pokes fun at it. The puzzles are usually good, with enough subtle hints how to solve what. There are a few moon logic puzzles, but they are rare. So overall a good sequel to one of the true heroes of computer game history. Oh, and you can't die. Thank god! Even if you die you can start over where it happened, like in Larry 6. Great!

Much Closer to the LSL I Remember

Time to Complete: 10 hrs Review: 4 out of 5 stars Much Closer to the LSL I Remember Than the Last Two Atrocities This felt like a classic leisure suit larry game and stayed true to the franchise. The jokes were funny again, the references witty, and the point and click style stayed true to form. I thoroughly enjoyed this title. Solid art style and fairly decent writing made this a pleasure to play. The lack of easter eggs and fan service was a little disappointing however, LSL has never truly been about pornography. I did like finding the tidbits of pixelated nudity and that added to the fun of the game for me. All in all, this was a great point and click adventure game and I would definitely recommend this title to fans of the series as well as new players. Note: Played on an alternate platform.
