Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude: Uncut and Uncensored!

While the series is known for cheap laughs and juvenile humor, this entry is just plain lazy. Voice acting is very well done and the appearance of several licensed songs on the soundtrack is a nice bonus, but the ugly character models, 90's era console graphics, and repetetive twitchy "gameplay" are pitiful. An entire game based on several tedious mini-games is bad enough, but the unresponsive (or deliberately adjusted in some cases-to create artificial difficulty spikes) controls on keyboard and mouse make almost all of them unwinnable without a gamepad. Quitting ("wimping out,") or failing often enough to get a pity round from the developers isn't fun at all. No thanks. If the makers had to put in multiple ways to skip the actual gameplay, you know it has failed. One star for audio, one for the inclusion of a smart-mouthed monkey.

Tedious, ridiculous, boring and irritating. That's the words for this game. Don't waste your time, stay away, go play something else.

The only reason I bought this game is because the pack it came in was exactly one cent cheaper than just buying Love for Sail. I can't recommend this to people who liked the old Larry games as the gameplay is entirely different and of poor quality. I can't recommend this to people new to the series for the same reasons I can't recommend a bumper car for someone who just got their driver's license. The target audience for this game are people who like arcadey, repetitive minigames, but not very good ones, risque comedy that's, at best, forced and seeing a couple of cartoon boobs maybe. If you belong in that group hit me up on ebay! I have a box of rattles and keychains I've been trying to shift.

As mentioned by other reviewers this is not the same team that developed the other LSL games. This entire game is terrible. Simply a series of mini-games with overt sexual overtones. The mini-games are unoriginal and not challenging. A simple cash grab. Don't let this game dissuade you from trying the prior games in the series though.

I got this game from elsewhere some years ago and this is just a warning. I have played all the old LSL games from back in the day and while LSL is silly and dirty the games seemed to carry themselves with some amount of decency. This game just shoves it all in your face straight away. I would not pay a buck for this game. Al Lowe, the creator of LSL, thankfully did not have anything to do with this game. Play some of the earlier games. If you want some good ol LSL then go for the Greatest Hits and Misses on gog.com. :-)
