Description
Legend of Grimrock is a dungeon crawling role playing game with an oldschool heart mated with modern execution. A group of prisoners are sentenced to certain death by exile to the secluded Mount Grimrock for vile crimes they may or may not have committed. Unbeknownst to the captives, the mountain is riddled with ancient tunnels, dungeons and tombs built by crumbled civilizations of days long past. If they ever wish to see daylight again and reclaim their freedom, the ragtag group of prisoners must form a team and descend through the mountain, level by level.

The game brings back an oldschool challenge with highly tactical real-time combat and grid-based movement, devious hidden switches and secrets as well as deadly traps and horrible monsters. Legend of Grimrock puts an emphasis on puzzles and exploration, and the wits and perception of the player are more important tools than even the sharpest of swords would be. And if you are a hardened dungeon crawling veteran and you crave an extra challenge, you can arm yourself with a stack of grid paper and turn on the Oldschool Mode, which disables the luxury of the automap! Are you ready for some classic dungeon-crawling first person perspective party-based RPG action? Are you ready to venture forth and unravel the mysteries of Mount Grimrock?
  • Use the Dungeon Editor to build entirely new adventures and challenges for other players to solve!

A journey back in time

This game was an inspired gift to all of us Knights of the Old School Guard. A journey back in time during years of romance and chivalry when we believed that with a buckler and a sword we could save worlds...and we did actually(i can remember saving many realms from destruction...) Well, i can only thank the creators of the game and i hope to see more adventures from thy team! :-) Let us not judge the game, but ourselves. Whoever didnt like it, i m sure they didnt spend too much time playing and wrote hasty reviews that the game didnt deserve. To the rest, i hope i meet you outside Grimrock for ale and Wine sharing tons of adventures! Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

new Style with old scoll game-feeling!

beatifull,really!The last Game,where i have so mutch fun..let me think,it was Ambermoon in the Year 94! And i have played sutch Games as Oblivion,drakensang,Two World and many others.But this one is it!

This is an old game?

If we had great games like this in the past, I'm seriously beginning to wonder where they went. These days, a wonderfully polished but very tight and straightforward yet challenging game like this is still the rare gem that it really shouldn't be. The basis of tile based real time combat has been ported into our times and stripped of everything that could feel out of date. Reviewers keep summoning comparisons to old dungeon crawlers, but Legend of Grimrock doesn't feel a day older than - incidentally - exactly a day.

Classic dungeon crawling with a facelift

Tried and true design, player character creation is deep enough. Game looks and sounds great. I'm having at least $20 worth of fun with this $15 game.
