Legacy of Kain: Defiance

I played this one a while back, and after playing through Soul Reaver 1 and 2, it's amazing seeing how far it came.

I was too young for PS2 games, so i'm finding out this game only now: already learnt all the lore and planning on playing the whole series, hoping on some good redisign of controls in the Soul Rivers remastered. This one in particular has a fantastic narrative and some nice retro gameplay. The control for keyboard and mouse are pretty aweful, mostly with the cam and for the platform sequence, but it's still pleable.

Not great, not terrible... the gameplay can be tedious, but... still holds. Mostly because of the story :)

I completed the game using keyboard and mouse and I mostly enjoyed it. Just be sure to rebind the keys from the start. I enjoyed everything about this game except the fixed camera. I knew the camera was going to be an issue, but it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. You can look up the invincibilty cheat code if you want an easier experience. The hardest part of the game if chapter 8 due to Vorador's Manor being fillled with platforming sections. The storytelling of Defiance is for sure worth experiencing.

An incredible unintended finale for the franchise; hopefully, the remasters spark talk for a new game. The camera is indeed horrible, as everyone says, but I personally got used to it.
