This planet ain't big enough for the three of you.
The Earth's surface may be nothing more than a burnt out hell hole but the Survivors, the Evolved, and the Series 9 robots still want it real bad and they're willing to have a whole new Armageddon to get it. Now's your chance to stake your claim to what's left of the planet. Send in your anaconda tanks and enforcers, counter the Survivors' hi-tech armies with mutant lo-tech mastodons and giant scorpions, or hit the fields and reap some serious body count with Series 9 seeders and weed killers.
Krush Kill 'N Destroy 2: Krossfire is a fast and furious real-time strategy game where you have to be quick or be dead. Seek out and conquer oil fields with your mobile oil platforms to fuel your army. It's been a long time since I picked up on this classic game. However, there is a bug that won't allow me to build more buildings or turrents for some odd reason. Can you plz look into this??? This is on the human side 2nd stage above...
Let me start off by saying, I'm glad I got this game on sale. Like Red Faction II, it's worse than it's predecessor in terms of gameplay.. there are some much needed features added but the fluidity and clarity is lost.
1st issue is the screen resolution, there are no options to modify this in game, so I will have to try out a link in one of these comments. 2nd problem is for whatever reason - the game won't let you create units or buildings despite having the resources to. Anyone else experience this?
how do i host or join others in this game the cracked virson was good on multy player but not the full campaign i payed for the full game since i wanted both ! i payed for 2 copys you cant even lan this game it crashed when ever i try it
This is an old-school "strategy" game and one of those niche products that sometimes came as a free addition glued to the cover of a gaming magazine. (The nostalgia is definitely strong with this one.)
The arguably best piece is the humor delivered during the intermissions, which do have a great entertainment factor.
While the unit graphics and voices were already dated by the time the game was released, the soundtrack, on the other hand, is a masterpiece you are certain to enjoy. It alone might be worth shelling out 2 bucks if you can get the game on a sale.
Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the actual gameplay.
Your enemy in KKND2 will simply continue to produce the same units and send them down the same scripted paths until it runs out of resources. Meaning, to call anything that happens a "strategy" is a bit of a stretch.
The way to beat a mission is thus usually rather obvious and the only thing that might stop you from doing just that is the insane number of units the enemy has right from the start, thus forcing you to advance slowly.
While it may be true that other titles of the time had similar short comings, KKND2 is one of those games that often enough feels like it isn't even trying.
Last but not least, since this is an "old-school" game, there are ye good olde cheat codes available, adding to the already great nostalgia factor (and reducing potential frustration).
I am very gratefull that the game made it into the GOG store and can be played on newer systems now, but there are quite a few issues which dampen the experience.
First I had regular blue screens, but that could be fixed by editing the options.cfg file (thx to Makosi's review). Nonetheless the game would still crash to desktop regularly and I would also encounter the mission failed bug very often. This is not game breaking if you remember to save every 5 minutes, but it is annyoing to say the least.
I wish they had put more effort into it, yet, for all its flaws, it is still worth the trip down memory lane in my opinion.
