I've only played 10 hours so far and I'm a slow gamer, but this is one of the best games.
The story, cut scenes, graphics, fighting, everything is very, very good.
It's very beautiful to see the same forest in the midday or morning. It looks different but always beautiful.
Youtube channel @Game-World-Art is interesting to follow. He takes a detailed look at rivers, grass en trees in this game.
This game really makes Skyrim feel old.
Still playing through the game and works on Steam Deck, installed through Heroic Games Launcher. However, the GOG version does not seem to have any cloud saves or achievements at this time, which was present in the KCD1 on GOG.
Games runs very well on the Steam Deck, even better than KCD1. 40FPS with a mix of low/medium settings and FSR3.1 Balanced.
Most of this game's elements are positive. This is evolution, not revolution. The world, the story, etc. However, I wish they'd simplified the combat system a bit. That doesn't change the fact that this game is one of the best I've ever played. I highly recommend it.
What an awesome game. The world is beautiful, even though you're reminded of the harsh realities of war on several occasions. The characters are interesting, and the quests are fun (with very few exceptions). A select few quests even have a time limit, which is something I'd like to see in more games.
Sure, the game does have its flaws. For instance I still don't like the combat, even though it has been improved from the first game. Duels are usually fine now, even with mouse and keyboard, but fights against multiple enemies still feel way too clunky (particularly switching melee targets or disengaging from an enemy). The dialogue also could have been a lot better. And traders apparently migrated to Bohemia from Tamriel, because all of them are as dirt poor as traders in Bethesda games.
However, at the end of the day none of these shortcomings really detract from the experience. Definitely give it a try if you haven't already.
I played on PS 5 (time about 130h).
- Nice graphics, even very much so. The presented areas are very similar to real ones (if someone has visited the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, they will feel at home)
- Animations - this is the weakest element of the game. In most cases, they are not bad, and the main cutscenes are very good to watch - they are probably of higher quality than those in side quests
- Music - there is no accounting for taste - for me it was brilliant
- Plot - the main one is full of plot twists, historically rooted, full of ambiguous choices. The plot of side quests often maintains a high level, there are sometimes fedex, but they often also have branches.
- Characters - this is high school - It's how the Czechs wove historical figures and even their national heroes here and are not afraid to show them from different sides. We will remember most of the characters, or feel some emotions - we like some, others irritate us - but most make us feel sympathy.
- Gameplay - I have the impression that it is more subdued than the first part, but on the other hand, many tasks can be completed in many ways. It is a game that strongly believes in our intelligence, which strongly returns the time invested in boring activities. I recommend :)
