Description
King Arthur Collection includes the following:
- King Arthur - The Role-playing Wargame
- The Saxons expansion
- The Druids expansion
- Knights and Vassals DLC
- Legendary Artifacts DLC
- King Arthur: Fallen Champions standalone expansion
Welcome to the lost age of chivalry, a time of magic and myth where you must rule the land as one of the era’s living legends: Arthur, the son of Uther Pendragon, and the Once and Future King spoken of in prophecy.
Fulfill your destiny and claim your rightful place on the throne of Britannia. Send your heroes and their followers to battle legendary warriors and monsters, while saints and faerie folk test their mettle against wizards and evil knights.
Real-time fantasy battles: spectacular fight scenarios on grandiose battlefields, featuring thousands of soldiers and powerful heroes such as Sir Lancelot, Sir Galahad or Merlin. Battles rely on the strengths and weaknesses of the different arms with several tactical possibilities, the abilities of the units and the heroes, monsters and most of all, spells.
Turn-based Campaign Map: Britannia is represented as a fully three dimensional topographic map where heroes move freely, conquer provinces or find adventures. In the turn-based campaign the changing seasons have effect on the gameplay and the graphics of the Campaign Map.
Create your own legend! The saga of King Arthur is an epic tale about the conquest of Britannia through a story-based campaign. The Campaign is divided into chapters, like a chronicle, each with a unique tone and theme. The chapters all have objectives, long- and short-term goals that also fit together to draw a grandiose picture of an unfolding storyline. There are many possible events and outcomes that all influence the legend itself and determine the ending of the storyline.
Morality Chart: Every decision in the game will influence the position of King Arthur on the Morality Chart. King Arthur might become a Christian ruler or the Follower of the Old Faith; a rightful or a ruthless monarch. These choices unlock special contents, allies, heroes, units and developments.
RPG elements: Heroes lead the armies and learn skills, spells and abilities from an ability tree for experience points. Heroes can also use magic items or become liege lords, entrusted with the leadership of a province, which is the best way to have them indebted. Arranging their marriages with the nice damsels of Arthur’s court also raises their loyalty.
Adventures: adventuring is the essence of King Arthur’s world. Quests pop up on the Campaign Map regularly. In technical terms it is a short story where the chosen knight has to make important decisions. Some adventures end in battles on special battlemaps.

Hi, for those of you who love the first King Arthur game (King Arthur: The Role-Playing Wargame) as much as I do, I made a short tutorial video about how you can play it on the current systems because it is basically unplayable in default due to unending cycle of crashes. With this solution, it works quite well. I hope it might help you. 😉

It's the best game on the legend of King Arthur, a very good wargame and rpg.
+mixing between rpg and wargame works well
+Beautiful (graphically and the artistic direction)
+Nonlinear (Be a Tyran or a good King, Catholic or Pagan)
+Music
-Animation in combat
-archers too strong
I was really positively surprised by how this game managed to capture me and keep me engaged for a long time. It was a long time since I sunk this many hours into a single game. The AI is not great, so the challenge comes from the way the games constantly throws new things at you to handle, but that really did not bother me the way I thought it would reading some of the reviews here. I found the many different aspects of the game kept it fresh for me for far longer than most games.
Another game that doesn't understand that you have to draw players in before making things difficult. It didn't take long into my first game to realize that this isn't a Total War game. Rome Total War was a masterpiece of tactical combat; this game is not. The battles are weightless and your control over your soldiers is weak at best. Just watch a fight and you will see floaty combat and weapons not seeming to hit anything before units fall into the grass and disappear into the ground... The camera is out of place more often than not and not easy to use at all.
The game has some interesting ideas, like the capture points, and the combination of hero units to your Total War style armies, but it's all poorly implemented. Very quickly you will come up against armies you cannot beat, higher level enemies with magic spells that will wipe out your unit from across the map that you didn't even see. The battles are not in any way comparable to Total War. This is ersatz.
Clicking your armies on the overworld map for some reason lags before you see any information. The writing in game is often improperly punctuated. There are just all sorts of quality issues in this game. It looks great other than the eyebleeding saturation of springtime. It sounds very good as well except for the hard cuts in music tracks, and there don't seem to be many tracks at all.
This game seems to have been hardly tested. It's mediocre at best.
I loved this game years ago, I’m currently running Win11 and I get hit with the dreaded runtime error message.
After searching for fixes the only thing I can find is reverting back to Win 10 for it to “maybe” work.
It’s a lot of effort to play a nostalgic game, so I quickly requested a refund.
Saying this I remember the game being great, extremely story driven and if you’re a fan of dark fantasy Arthurian mythology then this is the game for you, if I could actually play it I would give it 5 stars but the one star is purely for the fact I can’t run the game.
