I can't believe I waited so long...
Fantastic and massively addictive once you pass the steep-ish learning curve. I wanted this back in 2012/13 when it was released but I'm old skool and resented paying £30 for a game with no disc or manual - god was I a fool... One month in and I'd totally mastered landing, deploying standalone science experiments, and interplanetary transfers. Two months in and I've landed on Eve (this is hard), I've setup my own Comm Sat network and have my self-designed Rover (with a self-righting mechanism!) on nearly every planet and moon in the entire system. What I particularly love about this game is that it encourages RL (real life) behaviours, e.g. after a dozen launches you are going to end up with a lot of space debris (spent boosters, decouplers, etc) in orbit. Now, you can just 'kill' them, but it's far more fun to make a reusable Space Shuttle Grabber, rendezvous with the debris, grab it, and then de-orbit it so it burns up in the atmosphere - you can even spin your grabber ship in circles a few times, release the debris at the right time, and use centripetal acceleration to give the debris an even bigger kick backwards. I don't know anything about this spyware??? I only ever start the game up when I'm offline so I say Mwa-ha-ha-ha to the spyware guys - fill your boots. Fave Kerbonaut: gotta be Valentina with the bonkers eyes... I wonder if Valentina Tereskova likes the game :)

I do recommend this !
In case you are attracted by "aerospace" - this game is for you. In case you like constructing, planing, exploding, flying and experimenting - this game is for you. It is definitely not for everybody. In case you are not interested in space exploration, then a game about space exploration probably won't be a best shot. But if you are "space positive" - go and get this. The game will teach you, and yes despite some reviews here, it will teach you a lot. It won't make you a scientist, and no it does not qualify anybody to build actual rockets. It teaches elementary basics of rocket launching, orbital manneuvers, interplanetary manneuvers - all in very enjoyable form. Sure, it is simplified down to "game" level, yet it actualy teaches. What I find best is ... mods. Would you like a life support? Pick a mod. Real(ish) signal issues? Pick a mod. Radiation issues? Pick a mod. Realistic scale of system, additional planets, improved aerodynamics, decaying orbit? Pick it... Additional parts? Pick a mod. Sci-fi parts? Pick a mod! I guess you get it... and small hint here - if you are into mods (and you will be, sooner or later) - give a try to CKAN (app). Small warning - since I bought the game, I do not play anything else (almost), I do not sleep (almost), I daydream my missions, constructions and plans (allways)... And the best part? It is still fun! The community is also superb. And if you get confused? Write "Scott Manley" into your browser... and watch and learn :)

Good stock game, exceptional with mods.
I absolutely love this game and every positive review that has been written is right. It is not without its minor issues in its current state though. The 64 bit version is buggy and some mods disable itself, high part count vehicles cause stutter, it does not use every cpu core for physics calculation. The Unity engine runs in some kind of emulation in linux. Still 5 stars? YES! It is a good stock game, the developers care about their community. With mods, you open up a whole universe only limited by your imagination.
