Jupiter Hell is a classic, turn-based roguelike set in a 90s flavored sci-fi universe. Set on the moons of Jupiter, the game pits a lone space marine against overwhelming demonic forces. Rip and tear zombies, demons and unmentionable monstrosities, using classic weaponry such as shotguns, chainguns, railguns and the trusty chainsaw. All to the shine of CRT monitors and the tune of heavy metal!

Tactical, turn-based combat with real-time responsiveness
Benefit from classic roguelike turns with modern shooter sensibilities. Controls are immediate and accessible while retaining the back-end depth of a turn-based RPG.
Meaningful RPG progression
Customize your character with new weapons, items and abilities gained as you progress through a permadeath-prone hell. Beat the game to unlock more difficult challenges rather than grinding to make the game easier.
Randomized levels set all over Jupiter’s orbit
Blast through procedurally-generated civilian sectors, military space bases and mining colonies on the violent moons of Jupiter. Every playthrough you’ll find new ways to experience familiar settings.
Original shooter roguelike lineage
Jupiter Hell is built by ChaosForge, the team that’s been making top-down, cosmic hell roguelikes since 2002.

It's very fun and everything other reviewers praise
Except after like 3rd time I die on level 6-7 (char level 12) I feel discouraged to start from lvl1 again
OK now to rift, now to spaceport, yaddayadda F - F - F - F... To die again. Mechanics are not variative enough to keep my interest
It's hard to find a good turn-based roguelike, and this one is good. Lots of skills, combos, builds that you can create.
Nice graphics and really awesome music.
I hope devs will make a sequel one day - something even bigger.
I've been playing this game for a bit and I'm hooked! If you've played DRL and AliensRL (both from ChaosForge, the creators of Jupiter Hell), this will feel like home.
It has everything a roguelike should have: it's grid-based, turn-based, your character levels up with traits and, of course, permadeath makes you regret every poor decision, as you cannot undo your actions. You can, however, Save & Quit at any point, not just on the level transition as in DRL. And for the hardcore audience, an ASCII mode is promised as well!
The gameplay is smooth, employing an adaptive animation system, which makes the game look fluent even when quickly hammering directional keys.
The soundtrack rocks! I really love the metal tunes, especially the track that plays on Europa! \m/
Just like in DRL, you can play a single level in 2-5 minutes, making it a coffee-break game, should you be time constrained. But even if you only play 5 minutes, you'll feel satistified with how much action you can cram into that short time. After all, roguelikes are all about playing at your own pace while the world awaits your every move.
Unlike traditional roguelikes, however, combat is much more ranged, rather than melee. The game provides cover mechanics which make ranged combat feel very satisfying.
I highly recommend this game!
This is an absolutely dope roguelike. Turn based, but feels like a fast paced action game somehow. One of those games that you can tell the creator or creators really cared about and put in the effort to achieve their vision. The game is overflowing with style, the mechanics are fine tuned, and it's a blast to play.
I'm so sick of a grabbing a new game that looked cool and having this baffled feeling like, "did the creators even play their own f****** game???". Well, if you can relate, this game shouldn't disappoint.
I'm the type of person that, even if I love a roguelike a lot, I only play it to beat it once or twice. So, for me it wasn't massive in terms of playtime/content, but there are many possible builds, special modes, & harder difficulties here for those inclined.
Over time with new content and patches, this game is quite difficult on higher settings. For me anyway. I played for a couple years starting when it was still in development, and beat the game on hard and nightmare. Now I don't even get very far on Hard setting, so they have definitely ramped up the challenge over time, which is a good thing in a game like this.
