The Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time

The Journeyman Trilogy concludes in this game. This is the full, DVD-ripped version of the game with (pseudo) high quality movies. It's awesome that GOG got this working with Win7/8 with no legacy issues. If you like first person adventures, do yourself a favor and get this... it's up there with the best of them!

Although the history at times seems more fantasy than fact, it is a highly entertaining yet educative game, something you don't come across too often. The characters are memorable, and the puzzles are difficult enough to keep your brain working. Would definitely recommend to any gamer, young or old.

The navigation is vastly better than the prequels. I could run through the game in no time compared to the earlier games now that I could fast-forward and skip animations -- partly also because the majority of puzzles are trivial. Perhaps a bit too easy since according to my notes (of which there were very few) almost all my predictions of possible solutions turned out to be correct on the first try. Good news is that Arthur is back. Bad news is that Arthur is no longer the tastefully witty and knowledgeable personality that we got to know in the second game. I was positively surprised when he e.g. made historically accurate observations about castle walls in the second game, and I never hesitated to click the "Comment" button there. In Legacy of Time I just stopped asking for his comments halfway through and disabled the audio cue telling me he had something to say, because 80% of the time it was garbage. He is now an attention whore that can't stop *trying* to make jokes and imitate people with weird voices over and over and over again. It's like having a kid jumping up and down beside you who desperately wants to make you laugh while trying to figure out how comedy works. Hint: the material doesn't become funny just because you increase the number of jokes. Unfortunately they are a farcry from his comments in TJP2 about Da Vinci not actually inteding you to ride his inventions naked, lest something gets caught in the gears. Audio is good but lacking volume settings. All in all enjoyable if you like going back in time.

When I found out Journeyman Project 3 was on GOG I almost couldn't contain myself. This game is amazing, the story is amazing, the puzzles are not too hard that you want to rage quit and the graphics are really well done for the time. Get the game, you won't be disappointed!

It's a time travel game with puzzles... what more could you want?
