Description
Thousands of years ago the great civilizations of Shangri-La, El Dorado, and Atlantis had vanished. Behind their mysterious disappearance lies a legend of power and destruction that will ultimately determine the future of humanity. As Gage Blackwood, Agent #5 of the Temporal Security Agency, you will travel through time, assume multiple identities, and weave your way through an intricate web of puzzles. Hidden within these lost worlds lies the key to mankind's survival.

Journeyman Project 3 is a worthy installment of the franchise. A fascinating story, memorable characters, and puzzles that are both fun and intuitive are only the tip of an iceberg of what this game has to offer. The third installment features gameplay improvements like a first person perspective view, and the new "Chameleon Jumpsuit" that lets you interact with characters form the past. Also, Jerry Rector does an excellent job playing Gage Blackwood. When compared to the previous installments, this one is everything they were and more. If you are a fan of the series than this is a no-brainer. If you haven’t heard of those games before then this is a good place to start, even though this is the third part, because the story exists independently from the previous ones, and the production values and gameplay are top of their class.
  • Enhanced graphics with double the video playback resolution over the original CD-ROM release.
  • Dozens of different locations ranging from mythical Atlantis, to the harmonious valley of Shangri La, and even the golden city of El Dorado.
  • Gripping plot with many twists that will keep you entertained for hours.
  • Assume the identity of 18 characters and experience their ancient cultures first-hand, using the "Chameleon Jumpsuit".

My favorite adventure game of all time

Having owned all three games in the trilogy I have always wanted to play them again, one by one. My original CD's had major issues with playing the audio correctly which made me unable to play this epic game again. I can not say how happy I was when I saw this title being offered a new, in an enhanced DVD version too! The audio and video works flawlessly and the graphics actually look pretty decent too. For any Journeyman fan out there, this is a must.

Waiting Anxiously for Complete Series

I own the original series, but can't play them on Windows 7 for obvious reasons. I am looking forward to GOG getting the whole set done and I hope GOG will offer them AS a set, the way I bought them. I also hope you will include the original, first game with the rest of the series because it does add to the story-line.

Wonderful, Underrated game

This game and its puzzles, content, and witty dialogue NEVER get old. I can play through it in a few hours, but I still love it and play it. This is, and will forever be, one of my all-time favorite puzzle games.

"That will be ten dremoy!"

It's been years since I played this game, but I still have many fond memories. It has a creative plot, interesting locations and one of the more memorable adventure game characters in my experience (no, not the Antlantean ferryman, but he comes close). Managing to have a witty companion character that avoids being annoying is an impressive feat alone. The game is not without faults of course. This is an FMV game, and suffers from the standard drawbacks of said games: long pointless dialogue sequences, hit and miss acting, railroading, etc. On the plus side, the detailed 360-degree viewable environments were a selling point of the game, and I remember them working quite well. Puzzles can be obscure, but not as opaque as its predecessor Journeyman 2. I'm marking this 3 stars as I think it's not for everyone, it can be slow paced even for an adventure game at times. If you catch this on sale, however, snap it up. It'll be more fun than a pair of pants full of weasels.

Played it with my father for hours

First off: I didn't play the GOG "version" yet but got my old 4 CD game running on my pc and I'm looking forward playing again without doing the whole "I need to tweek this whole thing that way". The setting ist just crazy and it is quite simple to understand a bit behind it. The sci-fi elements are not that dominant throughout the game as only the HUD really gives you the feeling of being a time travelling dude with some special abilities. For the game itself it is really good if you like to solve puzzles in a unique style that needs you to often do something first on another place in the same timeline or even in another timeline. The visual style aged a bit badly but what do you expect of a game with prerendered and real life actors which give the characters something special? Still it is quite pleasent to the eye and can be looked over as you are more involved with getting this one puzzlke done you can't quite figure out yet. And don't get me started with Arthur...he just rules. End of discussion. His jokes/banters? Priceless. Even in german (which is the version I played first and unfortunately it is not available here. But still, the jokes are just genius). Overall: if you want a challenging first person puzzler, buy it and just feel how the game takes it's toll with some hours of your precious time. After completing it a few times this time is cut into smaller pieces but it still is as good as the first time playing it!
