In Iratus you find yourself fighting for the forces of darkness in the role of the titular necromancer—Iratus, recently freed from his millennia-long imprisonment.
You control an obedient army of the living dead, with skeletons, zombies, banshees and many other unliving warriors. Create your soldiers the only way a necromancer knows how: from the body parts of your slain enemies!
Expand and improve your underground lair. Strengthen your servants by researching secret rituals. Explore the twisted corridors and underground catacombs, and battle against lobotomized miners, greedy dwarves and corrupt mercenaries. Aid Iratus in his quest to recapture and eclipse his former power. Lead him to conquer the forces of good and unleash an eternal kingdom of death upon the world!
The sheer variety of tactical and strategic options makes Iratus a true treat for any ardent fans of the roguelike genre.
Play on the side of evil, embodied by the necromancer Iratus!
Expand and improve your underground lair.
19 types of obedient servants: zombies, vampires, skeletons, mummies, banshees and many more!
Craft minions from the body parts of your conquered enemies.
Advanced combat system: to win you need to know both the strengths and weaknesses of your troops and enemies.
Iratus can kill his enemies not only by magic or claw but also by draining their sanity!
Each minion has six unique abilities for a total of nearly one-hundred abilities for you to command.
Four talent trees that alter the way you play: Alchemy, Magic, Ire and Destruction.
Roguelike elements: minions that die are gone for good and the game saves automatically, making each choice irreversible.
Detailed 2D graphics and a gloomy atmosphere of dark fantasy.
Various difficulty levels, satisfying every type of player from novice to hardcore.
Iratus himself is voiced by the voice-acting legend Stefan Weyte, famous for his performance as Caleb in the cult game series "Blood"!
Combat feels more shallow and some strategies seem forced (like tanking with the bone golem) because of the cheap amount of damage late game enemies deal.
The biggest difference is the playthrough length, which is way shorter for Iratus since it can be completed in 3-5 hours.
Art and sound, while decent, are also inferior to DD.
It can keep you entertained for a dozen hours but definitely isn't comparable to the real deal.
This game wants to be another Darkest Dungeon type game so hard, but it lacks any soul. You just don't care about your party members, about enemies, because it quickly became repetitive and boring. Shame. Better look somewhere else.
I started this game on my mac and it immediately wanted access to my calendar which I denied. It sat there loading for a min or two then wanted access to my photos, again I denied it. Another two mins and its still trying to load and now its asking access to my contact list I am slightly disturbed at this point as I can't come up with a legit reason it wants this sort of info. Three more mins of loading and I get to the main menu and none of the buttons work nor can I exit the game!
Shoddy programing seems to be rampant these days but I did get this game for free so I guess Im not quite as angry as I would be if I had actually paid for this. What really gets me though is feeling like the game is trying to spy on me. As far as I can tell it is virus free but I still would recommend staying away from it.
Iratus has the graphics, the music and the gameplay better than Darkest Dungeon.
The gameplay is on 4-5 maps under 10 hours, you can't go back on the map and the death of your minions is permanent. On easy mode you can do Quick Save.
For all the achievements you must replay on the same location file, ex: Use the first save location to play/replay only on Easy (Cakewalk) , second save location play/replay only on Medium (More Pain) and the last to play/replay only on Hard (Good Always Wins).
The Extreme Hard (Eternal Harvest) you may try to play on the last two locations. In time, you will unlock all the characters at Humonarium for Easy, Medium and Hard locations. You can't unlock Humonarium at one mode by playing other mode.
