A Return to Form? An Elevation.
Ion Fury is a game of passion and borderline master craft. Combat is slick and full of energy. Weapons are satisfying with tight bullet spread, perfectly tuned audio/visual feedback, with headshots adding a refreshing degree of precision to the Build formula. Enemies are plentiful. Machine gunning fodder, shotgun rushers, devastating crossbow snipers, and more grotesque creations to discover. Fearsome enforcers of their cyber crusade turn into the many victims of YOUR justice charged rampage; or your spilled drink revengeance whichever you prefer. The battlefield is adored with a spectacular level of detail. Full of alternate routes, juicy splashes of coloured light, scene setting props, secrets, and an impressive implementation of verticality insure your virgin and repeat playthroughs are rich with exploration and visual wonder. I'm no music theory major, but the tracks accompanying this game set the tone and pace of the scene so perfectly with their energetic beats. Wish there was more I could say. I'd recommend your check out the soundtrack for yourself if you want to know more. I'd recommend you start on the highest difficulty, Maximum Fury, right from the start. Sharpening my skill and really solidifying my combat confidence throughout this game was beyond gratifying. Anyways, Damn Iron Maiden and their representatives for legal strong-arming these Devs into changing the game's name mere weeks before release. Damn this obnoxious, basically fucking pointless controversy that muddies what should be Ion Fury's honeymoon period. Censorship is disgusting no matter how small, and I hope Voidpoint will stand up for themselves and refrain from making any alterations. But I will not downplay team's achievements in protest, and let this game play second fiddle to fucking soap bottle with the word "gay" on it. I love Ion Fury, and the name is growing on me.
