Klei Entertainment, the independent studio behind the hit games Mark of the Ninja and , Don't Starve, presents: Invisible, Inc.
Take control of Invisible's agents in the field and infiltrate the world's most dangerous corporations. Stealth, precision, and teamwork are essential in high-stakes, high-profit missions, where every move may cost an agent their life.
Character selection: Start with any of the 10 unlockable agents in the game, plus 6 agent variants, and 6 starting programs to crack corporate security.
Deep customization of builds: each play through is different as you create your own strategy using agents, items, augments and programs, and adapt to your surroundings.
Randomly generated world: locations, threats, and loot are randomly generated so each playthrough is vastly different and you’ll never get complacent.
Choose your own game mode: with 5 different game modes and extensive custom generation options, each player can play the way they prefer.
Fully animated cutscenes and voice over: with hundreds of lines of voice over, great animation, and fully animated cutscenes, we didn’t spare any expense to make an immersive experience.

A very good game with insanely high replay value. The procedural generation algorithm is apparently really well done, since I've never encountered a bad level.
The game is also incredibly tense, since a single bullet will knock your agent out.
If you're a fan of turn-based games, this is a must-have.
This is the kind of game tightened up into a lean and tough but fair streamlined experience.
If the corp cops sneak up on you it won't be because the AI cheated, it will be because you didn't check your corners, prepare an ambush, forgot to keep them still, or took too long and the security alert got too high.
It's never frantic but it's never entirely leisurely paced either. Despite being turn based you can feel the tension of trying to calculate unseen enemy positions by listening for footsteps, dodge directly through blind spots in patrolling guard lines of sight.
Also the style is smooth as silk and stylish. It DOES look like an old Progressive commercial at times, but at its best it feels like a cyberpunk espionage show made by Bruce Timm.
The game is procedurally generated but it seems like there's a method to the madness. Guard placements don't feel haphazard to the point they'll throw you off, security systems never are without a console to hack or a security permit to swipe. Music is nice and atmospheric so it doesn't get repetitive.
You're basically doing the same thing over and over, but it doesn't come across as random at all. Think on your feet and you can tackle each new challenge, and the procedural generation even in the campaign mode is good fun.
Klei Entertainment has brought the world of gaming some truly wonderful gems. Invisible Inc. is one of those gems.
The gameplay consists of 2 distinct parts:
1) Management of your spy network (upgrading, choosing missions, selling/buying equipment)
2) Tactical turn-based missions
While the meat of the game lies in the second part, it is worth to mention the management aspect, as it gives a lot to the atmosphere of the game. You resource management at higher difficulties will get taxing and sacrfices will have to be made. This ties in nicely to the theme of a broken organization on the run.
The tactical turn-based missions are the meat of the game as mentioned and the meat is wonderful. Stealth is highly encouraged, as enemies remain knocked out for only a few rounds and killing them raises the alarm level, making every turn spent on mission more dangerous as the timer keeps ticking up each turn. Thankfully the stealth system is good and your agents get a generous amount of gadets and skills to use. In spite of that, the gameplay can get repetative on longer playthroughs, as the mission variety is not stellar.
The visuals of the game are wonderful and have the distinct Klei Entertainment style, with everything having a handdrawn look to it. Often times it feels like watching/being a part of a visual novel. The game is set in the not so distant future and has a great cyberpunk aesthetic.
The campaign is very short, as in you can complete it in a few hours. However, it is important to note that the game is built around replayability, with modifiers that can be added or substracted to tweak your experience. In addition the game does have an endless mode.
In conclusion, Invisible Inc. is a very good tactical turn-based action game with RPG elements and a classic cyberpunk story and setting. I suggest picking this game up if you are looking for something to play in short (0.5-2h) bursts e.g. while travelling.
This has what makes XCOM a good game, but at the same time it's a shorter experience. It doesn't have base building though.
Some people hated the timers from Firaxis' XCOMs, but this one is not as harsh (in the easiest difficulty, at least) The enemies and the map get progressively tougher, but once you have more than 2 agents on the field, you can split them to cover more ground and take less time doing your mission.
Some features of the game take require a try and learn approach, but most often than not it's worth it. In any case, being a rogue-lite, the worst that can happen is that you have to start again. But the campaign is not too long, so you won't miss too much progress (unlike XCOM)
Get the expansion DLC if you can. The price difference is very little, and you get all the features this game has.
