Subset Games New Mastepiece
An addicting, easy but more complex game than FTL Faster Than Light.

Too random to be fun
While FTL had some randomness, too, it was mostly a game of attrition and planning ahead. You could always do a comeback later if you found some good stuff. Into The Breach on the other hand will just randomly serve you missions that are impossible do perfectly (if you cannot do all missions perfectly on the first two islands, you might as well give up on longer runs). I lost count for the amount of times I was forced to restart the game from scratch, just because I got served a mission and/or round that would make it impossible to fulfill the missions goals or cost far too much grid.

Frustrating.
I want to really love this game, but too many things pull it down. I enjoy the time travel concept, and it adds an interesting wrinkle to the tactical rpg mold, but... -Not enough player choices. -Not enough customization choices for your mechs. -Only three mechs on the field at any time. -Repetitive missions. -Repetitive objectives. -Repetitive music. But worst of all, too punishing of failure. If you lose all your pilots, or take too much damage to your buildings, all the work you've put in building your mechs and crew up is completely wasted. It would've been nice to be able to keep your crew and start at the beginning, I would have felt some sort of getting stronger through effort and patience. But NOPE. You're sent back to the start with ONE of your pilots. I had some fun with it. But it's far too flawed to recommend.

Wasted Potential
Hard difficulty is Imbalanced Balancing method is outdated(there no Smart RNG, adaptive difficulty,Battle analizes adaptivity), Look at the core balance method of invisible Inc. where the game maintains its rock solid difficulty yet 99.9% of situation can be solved by your head not luck. Yet the game pretends like hard can be played(it can't be). CustomRandom Squad achievements are immposible to achieve on hard(unless you count 4-5 grid30% resist in a row on final mission as anything but "PLAYER SKILL"). Normal difficulty still has same issue but lowers stakes and complexity which results in even worse expirience. Grid override is BS, period. I have cleared 3 perfect and 1 near perfect(on hard) island my grid was almost 40% all troops nearly maxed then the "genious" game balance decides that 3 troops can cover 7 treads(3 is bigger then 7 as it seems in devs heads) not a single time grid resists the attack(40% welcome to gamble house) and I loose, HOW in the FUCK I'm supposed to play better then Maximum is a tough question. Few Achievements are just stupid grind :facepalm There is nothing about the game(style, sound etc) except for the GAME itself worth mentioning and core mechanics are severely flawed Only playabale by ultra fans of the genre or noob casuals.
