Interstate ’76® The Arsenal

... and He brings us I'76 on GOG! This is one of the real classics. Despite the aged graphics, I'76 features awesome gameplay with an actual story, great music and some of the coolest cutscenes ever produced. Nobody has ever expressed that much style and emotion with as little polygons as this. Simply incredible. Beside the fun physics there's also a tactical component in salvaging wrecked parts inbetween the varying missions. So while it may be satisfying to blow stuff up with a rocket, it may be wiser to jsut kill the driver and salvage the engine of his car. If you missed this while it was new and like the idea of car combat - get it. If you played it back then chances are you still want it, and you know it :D

I bought this game when it first came out and loved it, and especially its soundtrack. I bought again on gog to get that good, old feeling back but was disappointed to learn that I was not able to play it due to bugs. I looked in the forum and the bugs I experienced are all well documented a long time ago, but haven't been fixed.

While I'm excited to play this and I'm going down the path of exploring the various patches for this game, I'm pretty disappointed that this game is in a "fixer upper" state where a ton of patching is needed to get it running properly (the clouds are moving at light speed for me while the cars kinda stutter all over the place). It goes against what I thought GOG was supposed to do to help preserve these games and make them approachable to a modern audience. Would love to change my opinion by seeing this fixed!

I bought the Arsenal Pack in hopes of replaying Interstate 76' and Interstate 76' Nitro Pack just by downloading and booting it up, just like every other older game I've purchased and downloaded from GOG; which is the reason I opened a GOG account in the first place so I could play older games seamlessly. It crashes at the main screen for the main game and too many bugs for the Nitro Pack to even start. I shouldn't have to dive into forums for the GOG version of these games only to find out there still has not been a fix for years now and the only way to play is downloading multiple patches I would have to attach to the game. That's ridiculous. Myself along with a few others who have purchased this pack ended up purchasing the old discs in hopes of playing them again. Sadly, the original copies work better than these GOG downloads. I give 5 stars to the game itself since it's one of my favorite PC games from back in the day. This one star is for GOG for not taking ownership for selling a broken version of these games and not making it a seamless experience. They have left a broken copy to hundreds of us who have either played this and want to relive the experience, or first time players who are now probably turned off to playing it since they bought a copy that crashes on start up.

For whatever reason GOG still hasn't fixed this game, it still runs too fast, and glide still doesnt work. unless GOG fixes this, or you know how to fix it on your own i'd avoid buying this version and figure out another way to play (like on an old PC). it's pretty sad that they'd sell you a broken game.
