Description

On the evening of the fall of the Berlin wall, a young woman plunges headlong into a parallel dimension to find her missing work colleague who has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. While the checkpoints in East Berlin are still being overrun by crowds of people, Nora escapes from this world, into unknown layers of time and into an unknown fate.

  • Profound story: Experience a classic story-driven first-person shooter with about 4 hours of gameplay
  • Tight atmosphere: Dive into a lovingly designed world full of mystery and lynchesque surreality
  • Deadly danger: Enemies lurk around every corner - defend yourself with 4 different weapons
  • Unique setting: Berlin at the time of the fall of the wall meets a surreal industrialized city
  • Experimental soundtrack: Synthesizer, acoustic instruments and melancholic vocals

Berlin, 9th November 1989: The streets are full of people. After four decades of division, thousands of cars are rolling across the inner-German border. The Wall is finally open!

At the same time a man disappears in a secret research facility near East Berlin. His goodbye message reaches you too late. You drive back to the office, where the State Security has already destroyed all records of the research project. The complex is deserted and empty.

The search for Walter takes you deep into the center of the facility - right into the heart of the universe, where time seems to stand still. The dark secret lurks - well hidden - behind the curtain. In the end, it is horrible insights and the questions of responsibility that make you dive deeper and deeper into a strange, surreal yet familiar world.

broken performances

My 4070 runs at 60% gpu + full fan speed during the initial cuscene. It stutters while picking up the phone. Accessing the config menu bumpes the gpu to 100% and the pc takes off. Too dangerous.

Very Good Bioshocky Halflife

The story and world is very intriguing. The gun play is pretty satifying, as the gun sounds are punchy and most of the guns have a decent 'weight/impact' to them. My main complaint is that there does not seem to be any upgrades for you character, i.e. increased ammo capacity/increased health. Feels a little off given the world and some assumptions I have made regarding what happened leading up to the game. But the limited resources add to the tension of each encounter, since you have to be mindful of your current ammo and health count.

Impressive effort that misses the mark

Industria is a curious title that, in this day and age, ticks a lot of my boxes. Classic linear campaign? Check Lonely and eerie setting? Check Short and to the point? Check Non-regenerating health bar and a manual saving system? Check Still it sadly kinda falls short as the game is after all made by just a couple of guys and it shows. The gameplay is rather stiff and dull with uninteresting shooting and the entire game can be completed in a few hours. The game should be seen as an homage to Half-Life 2, to put it politely, and I wouldn't be surprised if the game started out as an ambitious mod for said game. The game puts you in the shoes of Nora, an east german scientist who gets mixed up in an experiment gone wrong at the same night as the Berlin wall comes down. Pretty neat idea but the game does nothing interesting with the concept - the characters talk english and all you do is shoot robots charging at you. The biggest problems are the technical short comings however. I recently bought an RTX 4070ti and decided to try the card out on Industria. The framerate was all over the place with frequent drops below 60 and stutter in certain scenes. During the end of the game my save file got corrupted and the game started crashing until I re-started from an earlier checkpoint and had to go through a rather difficult part to my frustration. The music is pretty nice and Nora's voice actress is doing a fine job but the plot vague to the point of feeling nonsensical. All in all, I wish I could recommend Industria as it is a game I really want to like but the flaws are simply too many.

I enjoyed my time playing it

Graphics are great, story start and middle is really good but ending is just bad, could have been better, it is a little on the short side. over all I enjoyed this game, felt like a combination between action and walking simulator.

A short but mostly enjoyable experience

The good: - Beautiful ambiance, feeling and environments. - Weapon sounds and design (oh my, that bolt action rifle!) - Raytraced shadows and occlusion. The bad: - Bugs (autosaves sometimes don't remember enemies status, weapon switch blocks, movement issues (unable to turn around more than certain quantity of degrees). Had to quit and launch the game again because of these last two. - Crashes. The ugly: - Story kind of underwhelming. Could have been a little more elaborated in the same timespan. - RT does not reflect player, lighting on gun models isn't consistent sometimes. - Heavier optimization would have been nice, although certainly there's only so much we can ask for given the scope of the project. Conclusion: The potential is there, definitely. A short but mostly enjoyable experience. I hope to see more games from this studio.
