Quite literally a modern masterpiece
CONGRESS NEEDS TO MAKE THIS GAME ARCHIVED IN THE GREAT CLASSICS OF AMERICA. I am being 100%, incandescently serious, when I say this. This game not only has some of the funniest lines in all of gaming, the animation, drawing, color scheme are all fantastic characteristics which filled many long afternoons and weekends with wonderful memories. This game is not exactly linear either. You can take multiple paths (Wits, Fists, Team) to encounter different parts/situations/scenarios in the game (what have you). Yeah of course you head to Atlantis eventually, but the adventure, in and of itself, is a miracle to behold. What they did with this game was not only transform a huge box office hit onto the digital format, they essentially ran away with the success and made the genre a mega hit among point and clicks. You have games like Quest for Glory, Kings Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, and Laura Bow which are all huge in their own right. But Indiana Jones and The Fate of Atlantis is something else all together. There is really something magical about the 1930s & 1940s and LucasArts beautifully captures the ambient vibe (attitudes, stereotypes, and culture) of the time. The fact that Indiana Jones explores so many places across the world, in his little cargo plane, just in this game, is a testament to the magic of which I am referring. Check out the game - you will NOT be disappointed.
