Description
On June 22, 1941, Hitler's German forces attacked Russia's 2,000 mile-long home front and advanced on Moscow. The Russians put up a fierce resistance which finally ground the Nazi war machine to a halt. Vital to the resistance was the Ilyushin Sturmovik, the IL-2. It was an anti-tank aircraft hailed by the Russians.
The Russians called it "the flying tank", the Germans called it "Black Death", and you will call it the most exciting and realistic combat flight experience you've ever had.
Oleg Maddox’s world famous Il-2 Sturmovik™ series of flight simulators continues to expand. The latest offering, Il-2 1946, adds 36 new planes, four new gigantic maps, over a hundred new ground objects, and nearly 200 new campaign missions. This new opus also includes all of the previous Il-2 series content. By Far One Of The Best Flight Sims Ever
I wish the devs would come out with a newer version, I would pay many dollars!!!!!! I have been playing this game since i was a young child and i am now 28. Def top 10 my favorite gmes of all time!

Amazing
One of the greatest flight games in the market! Not the most realistic simulation, but absolute blast for what it does! AI is still one of the best in flying sims and nothing comes close to it, even in newer titles in the series. Must have for singleplayer pilots! Stock game comes with content for months, QMB is there when quick fix for flying needs to be satisfied. FMB for making your own missions and because of it you can download thousands of missions from internet to give you content for years! Modding scene is still alive and gives so much more content and planes you can never ask for. Some GUI and mission mechanics can be confusion and many manuals are out of date, but once you begin to understand them they are not hindering experience. Works in Linux trough Wine like a butter. Some mods needs dinput.dll override to get them work (like Ypack 1.2.3 for 4.13.4M which version GOG ships and B.A.T for 4.12.2 version of the game). For Windows especially Win11, game will have problems and needs some adjustments in Windows settings and game's .ini files to get it work. There is many guides to get it work in the internet. If you have working joystick or full HOTAS, there's no reason not to get this game!
