Money Talks. Silence Pays. Prepare to Make a Killing. When assassins from Agent 47's contract agency, The ICA, are eliminated in a series of hits, it seems a larger, more powerful agency has entered the fray. Sensing he may be a target, 47 travels to America, and prepares to make a killing.
Features:
'Blood Money' system: the cleaner the 'hit' the more money you receive which can be spent on bribing witnesses and police to reduce your notoriety, weapon customisation, specialist equipment and information.
Customisable weapons: modify Agent 47's custom weapons in a variety of ways including sound, recoil, rate of fire, damage, reload speed, accuracy and zoom.
Strong narrative: who is wiping out the ICA and what is their motivation?
Not gonna lie I wasn't really enjoying this game at first because I was trying to perfect the game on my first try of each level, but once I decided to use the trial and error approach instead I ended up having a lot of fun. There are so many different ways to complete a level, endless possibilities, up to your imagination kind of game. The gameplay was great and I loved reading the newspaper after every mission.
7/10
Easily gets 5/5 stars. Classic game. Some aspects are dated, but it is a gem to me.
Yes the controls and movement are a bit dated, but It affects the game in no way... you get used it easily.
My Favorite Level is the The Murder of Crows. It can be finished with score of Silent Assassin in 1 minute or so to 10 minutes.. up to you!
An awesome game and a must try!
I bought this game on sale because I was bored. If I'd known just how much fun it is to play, I would have bought it ages ago and gladly paid full price for it. If you have $10 to spend on yourself, spend them on this game. You won't regret it.
The best of the original hitman series. Solid stealth mechanics and disguise mechanics that hold up relatively well. Gunplay is not the best however it is solid enough for how often you are likely to use it.
Some issues on modern pcs, nothing gamebreaking mainly just annoying and nothing that can't be fixed by limiting framerates with Rivatuner or NVIDIA
For reference, i've played this game for about 30 hours on Steam and purchased it again here. It's a great game that fills a very specific niche of Stealth no other franchise I know of attempts, its essentially an assassination sandbox. You're given a large level and you have the open ended task of killing your target, which can be done in dozens of different ways, gaining money you can use to buy weapons and other items to assist in your contracts, as well as having a notoriety system in case you leave evidence and witnesses.
In some ways it even still surpasses the modern Hitman trilogy (Hitman 2016 and its sequels) as it relies a lot less in context sensitive actions, allowing for a much more free form gameplay (for example, while in the modern titles you have poison vials and poison syringes, with the former being usable only in food/drink items and the latter only directly in NPCs, both being just a prompt to press a button when close to the object, in Blood Money you just have poison syringes, that you use by aiming them organically like you do with any weapon, and are therefore usable on *both* NPCs and on food/drink items), giving you more flexibility and less problems with context sensitive actions being misinterpreted by the game
