Heroes of Might and Magic® 4: Complete

Homm4 promised a lot, but the good things delivered were overshadowed by the bad ones. Battlefield and map perspectives are awful, just as some races. The hero itself being active can be good and a bad thing, but certainly a fresh idea.

While Heroes 4 improves and innovates in some respects, in most it falls short by changing mechanics from 3 that weren't broken in the first place. It feels like a very different game from 3, and combined with a lacking of a random map generator and dated graphics, the game falls short compared to its predecessor. They should have maintained the graphical style and gameplay of 3 more, especially with Heroes 3's huge success.

Hey GOG, please make it possible to play on Mac :( im a huge fan of HOMaM 3 and 4 !!!

I played about a half an hour of interrupted gameplay that was caused mainly by stability issues. The game looks and plays fantastic if it actually could stay online for more than a few minutes first. I watched reviews of this game, I played the older games myself. But it seems this one never got the TLC needed to make it compatible with current generation PCs. This game barely functions on windows 10, any compatability settings or precautions to enable older games to work doesn't help 100% of the time with this game. It should work fine on older platforms but windows 7 and above it will have difficulty running. The game will crash frequently when you get it to run, and if you can't get it to run it will simply not even boot or just white screen.
