HOMM4 dissapointing
Just doesn't have the magic of HOMM3.

Falls short in many areas
Widely regarded as the worst installment of the HoMM series, I thought I would at least give it a try seeting how much I love HoMM2 and HoMM3. This game is overly complicated and frustrating, I'll give the developers credit for a creative departure from previous installements in the series. However, the end result is removing some of the best elements of HoMM3 and adding in new elements, most of which don't work, and don't work together. Not even worth a look. Just skip it.

Love this game
I love the Heroes series and have played them for years when I need some old 2d gaming. my only problem is that it is supposed to be compatible with newer systems (windows 8) but the game constantly stops running. I have downloaded the old direct x but this does not help. love the game, but frustrated with the constant having to restart every 10 minutes or so

They say it's not good as HoMM 3
But really what is better that HoMM 3? Maybe the first orgasm? This is very good game. If you are not big fan of HoMM 3 you will certainly love this game. If you are in love with HoMM 3 - well.... at least try it?

high lvl heroes are overpowered
While the storyline for the campaigns are better than those of HoMM 3 and the sound and graphics are great in my opinion, this game has one serious shortcoming; if you boost up your main hero with bonuses to your attack/defence skill and secondary skills, then you will be able to defeat all other scenarios without even considering your towns/armies. One hero can run around and curb-stomp everything on standard difficulty. If you do _not_ boost your main hero, however, you might find the game really challenging.
