Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete

In the 3 decades I've been a PC/console gamer, there are three games that so completely and profoundly affected me that not only do I have fond memories of playing them, they invoke a borderline-reverent reflection on their perfection of experience in playing them. Those 3 games are: Half-Life, Super Mario 64, and Heroes 3. (And this from someone who bought and LOVED Heroes 1 and 2 back when they were first released.) Half-Life was THE game-changer in FPS: story-driven, epic in scope, ever-pushing the player in deeper-challenging scenarios... arguably bested only by Half-Life 2. Super Mario 64 was the ahead-of-it's-time proof that engrossing, balanced, highly-varied-function 3D platforming was possible... arguably never bested until Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii. And Heroes 3 is the pinnacle of TBS... standing strong on the shoulders of it's excellent predecessors... and arguably has never ever been bested, even by its successors. That's about all I can add to the many other 5-star reviews posted here. I agree with all of them.

Get the H3 Complete from GoG, install the free fan-made mods (HD + HoTA) and enjoy... After 20+ years I still play this game... Enough said - phenomenal game!

Although my first might & magic title I had was the fifth ( developed by another company) and it's still my favorite Might and Magic title, the third entry of the series is easily my second choice. I'll forgo the usual description of the game itself : I'll simply say that every feature that made the saga great has been expanded and developed, plus with this complete edition you'll get the 2 expansions ( a prequel and a sequel), which adds a monumental amount of hours of solid gameplay ( I'm still at the very first expansion, with more than 80 hours of gameplay and still didn't finish it). On top of that, the story is the classic example of ''simple and yet complicated'' with some really nice twists ( all I can say it's ''Ka-Boom'', for few). Downsides? the words ''balance'' or ''balancing unit and towns '' are not very much contemplated in the series, but most of the time it's because the game requires a different thinking and approach, unlike other games of the same genre... and other times there are simple imbalance between units and, most of all, the spell that you can throw at your enemy( which should be a given by looking at the title of the game). Other then that, this is the golden game of the series, the one that really made the saga a cult classic, widely considered its pinnacle, and therefore a very hearted recommendation.

Bougth this game many times on few platforms. Hard to get with all DLS's this days, so deal on GOG is just great. I was very happy. One problem is that I can't get any online games. Can't connect maps by IP address. Still this is one of the best games ever made. Inferno912

This game honestly slaps, the modding community is very active for a 20+ year old game, go check out vcmi, hota and era for a good start
