good if u like H3
Its a more simple design than H3. Not as many campaigns as H3 complete but still enough to keep playing for many hours.

GOG is killing me!!!
Man, first GOG releases HOMM (which now finally works on Vista) and now they've released the wonderful HOMM 2 (and HOMM 3 is on the horizon...)!!! GOG is now officially killing me with these great game releases. I'm not a real time game player and have spent a lot of time with the HOMM series over the years but I had difficulty getting the older versions to run on Vista. Thanks GOG and keep up the great work (oh and I saw that the whole Might and Magic series (1 through 6 at least) is releasing soon too. Again....killing me....

Sound glitches
This version of HoM&M 2 has some very annoying music audio glitches, and oddly enough the volume won't change after altering it in the settings. It's not just me having this issue as I learned while checking out the forums. This is a fine game with a personality that is somewhat lacking in the otherwise superior HoM&M 3. If I wasn't so annoyed by the audio, this game would absolutely get 4 stars.

Those years...are still these years
This turn-based game is top 5 I have ever played in my life. It has been some years since first release, but the versatility and simplicity YET complexity still gives me continuous hours of "just one more turn". It's just a brilliant game. If having a few dollars left, I recommend purchasing this and the successor series HOMM3- well spent money on high level entertainment.

Impresive
after so many years this game is so impresive! Must have for all those who played it in past and also never tried it before but are fans of HoM&M3
