Fun nuggets crushed by tedium
Without going into the positives - others have done so - I'll go into the *negatives*. To put it simply: bosses, difficulty, and cheats. Bosses: I never made it past the first one. Regardless of how often and how easy it is to *repeatedly* clear the levels leading up the stone golem - gathering and sending gold and ore back to town - it is still an abysmal struggle. Difficulty: no settings, no options, no preferences. This ties into... Cheats: none. Console cheats are disabled and memory trainers/editors can't find simple values to edit. Verdict... FAIL. I want to play the game that *I* want, not repeatedly struggle through artificially inflated grinds, respawns, penalties, etc. Some people - myself included - do NOT have the time, patience, or interest in going through a gauntlet of boring, repeatable tedium in the hopes of SOMEHOW extracting SOME sort of fun, interests, rewards, etc. This could be completely solved with a custom difficulty option.
