Hellpoint is a dark and challenging action RPG set in a heavily atmospheric sci-fi universe where the line between science and occultism is blurred.
Once a pinnacle of human achievement, the Irid Novo space station has fallen. Its ruins are now overrun by cruel interdimensional entities acting as puppets of the malevolent Cosmic Gods.
You have been created by the Author, organically printed on Irid Novo and sent on a mission to find out the unholy series of events that led to the catastrophic incident known as the Merge.
Irid Novo is a massive interconnected world full of mysteries, hidden passages and secrets within secrets - all for you to explore in any order you like. More dread and shivers awaits you as you travel deeper into the darkest corner of this forsaken colony.
Dozens of melee and ranged weapons and armor pieces to suit your playstyle. Every weapon has unique special abilities that unlock the more you fight with them.
A fascinating new sci fi universe reminiscent of classic sci-fi movies, set in the aftermath of a massive quantum cataclysm and complete with a deep lore and goosebump inducing soundtrack.
The space station orbits in real time around an ominous black hole that triggers various dynamic events such as boss appearances, horde assaults as well as modified enemy stats and positions.
If you are struggling, ask a friend to press Start to join in a couch coop session, or call for assistance online. The entire game can be completed uninterrupted in coop. The loot is shared, and the experience of local player two is saved and not watered down.

The reason that the Dark Souls series works so well is because it's elements are refined. Combat is responsive and weighty. When you mess up it's because you misstimed a block or parry or overextended yourself and ran out of stamina.
Hellpoints combat is, right now, way too clunky (IMO) to justify the difficulty level it has. It's not fun to die and feel like I have no control over it b/c my swing just passed through the enemies hit box, did not damage, didn't stagger and now I'm dead over something I can't control.
I'm going to wait for some updates and try this again later.
Personal opinion, this game sucks!
Cons.
> Frustrating clunky combat system, check! Sometimes basic enemies do not register the hit and hit you back and you can't even pause to adjust your inventory with a little peace of mind
> If you die sometimes your ghost spawns as well and tries to kill you again???
> In the initial chamber with the elevator there's a bigger enemy that can almost insta-kill you, but only at the first try, at your second spawn is not even there anymore
> Enemies respawn from nowhere after a certain amount of time or while moving between chambers ?!?
> Basically no respawn points or save points? Just 1, at least until your first boss fight
> Level up? nope, at least until your first boss fight that is way above you in terms of everything
> Enemy drops? Are random and mostly useless because you don't have the right stats, at least until your first boss fight
Music? Almost non-existent
Lightning of the rooms? Bare minimum. In what it seems a far gone future, they forgot to light the rooms, neon are probably too costly to maintain
Jump and grab? I can jump as a professional athlete but I can't grab to ANY surface (even the Doom guy can JUMP and GRAB since 2016)
Stun enemies when attacking from above? nope
Guarding properly from ranged attacks? nope
Attack and dodge? nope, spoiler alert, Attack or dodge or you die
Pro.
Got it free, so I don't have to worry about a refund...
If ur a souls lover then this is the game for you, if not then its isnt. The reason why people r rating it so bad is because they dont know what and how hard the souls series r lol. Souls lover this is for u, but it's a mix of sci fi, dark fantasy, and depression.
I spent 10 hours to reach 10% of a 3 hour gog stated average that reach 20% completion. Very nicely graphically coded - smooth animation and frame rates. Why did I get addicted to even levelling? Eventually I decided my character (supposedly on some sort of vacation) was ready for level 5 strength and with this, every other levelable being 4 or 3, I defeated the hallway boss and moved into the idea of researching for the manne. Looking then at a various walkthrough I saw that the game was more a hidden passageway souls like dungeon crawler than a straight forward maze puzzler. It was here I decided to write this review. I wanted the game passed my addiction to be a little more open. I'd rather not use the term constipated but I just have. Strangely it is very similar to Surge - but I could find Surge's paths. Possibly just me...
You're a generic robot man with a human face and a pancake ass. You walk around this big empty space ship (i think?) and fight generic humanoid horror monsters. You get a healing item, weapon (an axe that is called a "pipe"?), shield and "axions". At some point you'll die because dodge is bound to Left Ctrl and block to Left Alt for some insane reason. Then you get to redo a sizeable part of this because respawn points are rare and enemies respawn too.
After dying a couple of times i was done with this crap. Apparently you can use these "axions" to level up but they never explain that. And did i mention that tutorial popups can only be closed with Enter (while you have your hand on WASD and the Mouse)? Plus there's mouse acceleration in addition to the insane sensitivity (had to use G Hub to fix that).
Craziest thing of all is that this is a 2020 release. What?!
