Hellpoint is a dark and challenging action RPG set in a heavily atmospheric sci-fi universe where the line between science and occultism is blurred.
Once a pinnacle of human achievement, the Irid Novo space station has fallen. Its ruins are now overrun by cruel interdimensional entities acting as puppets of the malevolent Cosmic Gods.
You have been created by the Author, organically printed on Irid Novo and sent on a mission to find out the unholy series of events that led to the catastrophic incident known as the Merge.
Irid Novo is a massive interconnected world full of mysteries, hidden passages and secrets within secrets - all for you to explore in any order you like. More dread and shivers awaits you as you travel deeper into the darkest corner of this forsaken colony.
Dozens of melee and ranged weapons and armor pieces to suit your playstyle. Every weapon has unique special abilities that unlock the more you fight with them.
A fascinating new sci fi universe reminiscent of classic sci-fi movies, set in the aftermath of a massive quantum cataclysm and complete with a deep lore and goosebump inducing soundtrack.
The space station orbits in real time around an ominous black hole that triggers various dynamic events such as boss appearances, horde assaults as well as modified enemy stats and positions.
If you are struggling, ask a friend to press Start to join in a couch coop session, or call for assistance online. The entire game can be completed uninterrupted in coop. The loot is shared, and the experience of local player two is saved and not watered down.

I got this game for free on giveaway and I still regret downloading it. Controls terribly, feels like moving and fighting through molasses. Can't even see what I'm doing half of the time due to the camera, which is also sluggish and unresponsive.
If I had to say something nice about it, I like the interconnectedness of the levels, the way they loop back on themselves and open up shortcuts to previous areas. Though, while I may have been missing something, even that is dampened by the fact that wall-humping seems to be the only way to find secrets.
Runs fine on Linux but I still strongly recommend against playing it.
I got this game for free and I want my money back. Every enemy kills you in one to two hits, and if you are staggered the enemy will instakill you. Very little is explained, you die constantly, and I could not pass the first boss. Everytime you die a green "ghost" of yourself will act as an NPC invader making progression even harder. The game has a great setting, and did a lot of things right. They went overboard on the difficulty which ruins this.
Worst of all the game runs like absolute garbage. I have a 1660Super and an i5-9600K and was averaging 45FPS on high. After getting the platnium on Bloodborne, Dark souls II and III, I was hoping for a souls like that would be playable. Alas this is not it.
From what are considered Souls-like I only played Remnant from the Ashes with a friend. So this was kind of a new venture for me.
I didnt play long, but played enough to know what Im getting into.
Firstly, the game looks more bland than the screenshots. Maybe my settings were off, but the screenshots paint a more "colourful" picture.
There is some story here, but from what Ive seen its presentation is lackluster.
The gameplay in the begining is simple. You get a weapon and a shield relatively early on and fight enemies. The interface is rather clunky from my point of view, but then I found out this is geared towards consoles. Maybe its good for them, but for me it isnt that good.
The explanation of the gameplay systems isnt that good either. I had to find out about the block button and dodge roll by pressing different keys, because it felt that I was lacking certain combat options.
The initial enemies were pretty simple, but then I stumbled upon someone who basically one shotted me. It wasnt even a boss. By looking through some videos I found out you need to basically avoid these enemies until you level up. Run past them. I have absolutely no idea why the levels need to be designed in way where I need to run a way from enemies that are naturally on my progression path. There was no other way to go. And how many more surprises like that await me? After ddeath I was kicked back to the beginning of the game where my only checkpoint was. I consider that poor level design.
On top of that you have no map for the space ship you are in. You have to memorize where you are and it can be quite confusing.
Maybe I am not the target audience of this product. But since I got this for free I want to warn the average user that this for people who are willing to invest, grind, trial and error games. So unless you are in those categories, dont bother.
