Haven Park

My daughter loved the game, absolutely lovely, she walks and call the campers her friends, even my wife loved it. Graphics are beautiful, very cartoony, and you don't need a powerful computer in order to run the game in the ultra. Gameplay wise, it is a kids game, but there's something more than a "walking simulator", inventory is not infinite, and we can collect money from food stands, adding some managing depth into the game, which is amazing for teaching kids how money is a valuable resource. The Portuguese Brazilian translation is amazing, my daughter is learning the letters, and now she wants to learn how to read.

you can set up small camps within highlighted borders in various spots. you can build tents, huts, restaurants, pools, picknick tables, shops and more which attracts more campers. more campers need more sleeping places, food...etc. shops or restaurants produce money. well, the camp building mechanics of haven park reminded me a little bit of the settlement building in fallout 4. only simplified :D it's a cute, colorful and relaxing little exploration game about gathering resources, building camps, talking to campers and solving small and easy quests. you'll earn xp points to spend on a handful of useful skills. took me about 4hrs to complete the story. you can continue playing after the end credits to look after your happy campers. if you enjoyed "a short hike" and you're into (very) basic building mechanics you'll like this game.

Managing a tourist park that grandma is too old to keep running? At first it sounds like your standard run-of-the-mill economy simulation, but you'd be surporised. This game manages to pack a story in a completely different way than expected. Usually this would be a "normal" adventure-type game, but the developers decided otherwise and they were right. Tending to the park and caring about the tourists is only superficially, there's a story behind all that and even though it's short it's still well thought of. It's hard to describe what's actually going on without spoiling, so let's just say that halfway through the game you won't guess how it ends. That's a good sign. The graphics are vibrantly colorful and well-made and the tourists you meet in the park are likeable and quirky. As has been mentioned before, this game as somewhat similar to A Short Hike, so if you know that, you know what to expect. Overall, it's a nice like relaxing game you won't mind playing a second time. There's time ingame but it has no bearing to progress so you don't have to rush. The only downside I can thing of is the lack of seeing your current position on the map. At first this is quite annoying but the further you get the less it's a hindrance. Oh yes - "Piu!"

Found this game in news-feeds. Cheap and looked nice. (and it is) Main story-line you can clear in 3H 30min from there it's just alot of small things to quest/clear in the park to make AI-visitors happy.

I've played Haven Park with a 6-year kid. Perfect game for his age: calm, cute, not challenging, rewarding. For me being a spectator it looked like a perfect training simulator for kids to play games. The controls are simple, the quests are intuitive, the story is teaching. This game has some management, evolution in an easy-to-get form, some ideas to think of. It would be better if building prices used icons for resources, not words. This way the kid will easier understand how much it costs. :) Experienced gamers may find this game short and easy, even boring. I think it is just not for them. It is fine for kids, playing together with their parents or grandparents. It is a calm, curing game, . A good game.
