Hardspace: Shipbreaker

Lots of fun, requires a lot of forethought to pull apart each ship safely. It's actually more of a puzzle game than anything, working out the correct and safest order. Decent story too.

A refreshingly unique concept with an interesting, rewarding gameplay loop and excellent environmental storytelling. Trust the makers of the Homeworld series to know how to inject feeling and emotional stakes into what might otherwise function just fine as a detached, aesthetically pleasing game world with novel mechanics. A pleasant suprise! In a market where games that stray too far from well established formulas turn out gimmicky and half-baked as often as not, I'm glad I rolled the dice on this one.

I own over 500 games on GOG, and yet this one captivated me. While it can be repetitive, it's also very cathartic. I was pleasantly surprised by the thoughtfulness I had to put into dismantling the ships. Loved it, and I beat it on 'Standard' just before I'd about had enough of it. So - well time storyline, worthwhile game play, intuitive controls, a decent story line and quality voice acting made for a pleasant experience. Definitely worth the buy.

Imagine having a job that's actually kind of fun, and teaches you a lot about collective labor bargaining rights.
