Hardspace: Shipbreaker

Very fun and satisfactory gameplay and progression with some serviceable plot to tie everything together. Totally worth the price. No masterpiece, but very good.

The game is surprisingly good and is one of the key lega of the job simulator genre. This one tries to tackle 3D environments, tight spaces, and a bit of a physics gun to help with salvage. IT mostly does it well, however the default control scheme is a bit difficult to get used to and I find myself constantly pressing the wrong buttons. I'll need to re-map the keys into something more intuitive and make it less likely to accidentally destroy rather than pick up something. The politics is basically big corp bad, unions good. It's simplistic and I find myself incredibly bored with the story. Such as it is. The campaign is basically just some audio dialogue on top of the base gameplay. You have no real interactions with any of the people.

It's mostly a puzle solver with a bit of story line thrown in. It's limited in scope, but within that scope, its very good.

The second time was on GOG to attempt to keep access to it longer. Once the story is done, which is a fun time, I just pop in, pick a ship, and pick it apart. The mod community isnt super alive, but if you have a decent VR setup and can tolerate Gamepad controls, theres a reaslly cool time to be had. So that guy's a saint, actually. Solid soundtrack, but eventually I muted it for my own tunes/podcast/videos etc. Zen vibes once you start to trivialize the bomb diffussal aspects.

I adore this cozy game. Beautiful, and touching.
