FREE TO PLAY THAT’S WORTH YOUR TIME
A fair and fun progression system turns the effort of building a competitive collection of cards into pure pleasure — simply collect new cards to build decks with as you play GWENT; no strings attached.
STUNNING, ALL ACROSS THE BOARD
Beautiful, hand-drawn art and mesmerizing visual effects breathe life into every card, battle and battlefield, making GWENT fun to play and every duel a joy to watch.
SKILL BEATS LUCK
Crush the enemy with brute strength or outsmart them with clever tricks — no matter your deck, GWENT’s unique round-based gameplay opens up a world of strategic possibilities to play with when fighting for victory.
MORE THAN ONE WAY TO PLAY
Whether it’s a quick online game against a friend, a highly competitive PvP challenge, or something new and wildly adventurous like the Arena, GWENT’s selection of game modes has got you covered.
EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY
Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.
NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS
You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
Super disapointed, i only know Gwent from the Witcher and when the other Gwent Games (Thronebreaker and Rogue Mage) where on sale i decided to buy into it expecting somthing like the Gwent in The Witcher.
Its nothing of it and the controls suck as Controllers fight with Mouse+KB overriding each other.
The game is a generic CCG with a Witcher Theme that has nothing to go for it especially if you expect the experince from The Witcher but the theme.
If i was looking for a generic bread and butter CCG i would not go for Gwent in the first place!
Where to start. At the beginning.
A long time ago, before 1.0, this card game was the top for me. In fact, I've enjoyed it the most of any game in this style ever since. 10 stars out of 5.
And that's why I was so hurt by the change and gave it 1 star back then, undeservedly. I got carried away with the anger, the chaos and then the contempt... that's it. It was.
Now, having re-read one of the books and watched the series, I thought I'd give it another go. I have no regrets. Although I do miss the crazy variety it provided back then in decks and faction differences. I can't even put together many of my old favorites the same way.
But! The game is still good. None of the things I was afraid of, pluses here, minuses there, really streamlines the game. It gives you the thinking and pondering I expect from a game like this. I simply enjoy the games, the challenges my opponents provide with their cards.
However, I cannot appreciate it as highly as I did before 1.0. This rule system of the game, for me, really limits the imaginative capabilities of the cards. It doesn't reflect the uniqueness of the characters as much. I miss that, unfortunately. However, I really like the lack of filler cards in this game. I can use the simplest, weakest ones in a deck.
P.S.: Sorry if it got long. And for any grammatical errors. English is difficult for me :)
Ok so I played a couple of CCGs and this is by far my favorite one... I played Hearthstone for 2 years and I quit after I realised I'll never have all the cards with new expansions changing all the time without having to pay every 4 months for new packs. The grind was terrible. I'm not a gamer who plays games non-stop, I play about 2-3 hours a day. So one day in january 2017 I sent my application for closed beta of Gwent. To my surprise I got it and was delighted. When I saw how much kegs you can open for a day with my mind was blown away. Grinding has never been so easy and fun. I fell in love with CD Projekt Red and I decided to buy starter pack to support this guys and ofcourse because there is so much value. Your time is not wasted with this game. It will surprise you, challenge you and the best of all you will have fun with this game. I can't say there are no problems with servers and sometimes bugs, but they are immediately fixed. You should try this game for a couple of hours and you will find yourself playing the game whole day and tomorrow and day after that. Just try it and see for yourself :))))
Been playing since closed beta. Fun, intuitive and challenging. also not a pay to win game.
one of my most played games of all time. i just wish it was bigger.
I'd rather have the beta version back. This version has better presentation but feels like a dumbed down version of the game, probably because they want to make a mobile version of it in the near future.
Sorry to add to the host of mediocre to bad games, but it had to be said. The beta was one of the best card games I ever played (and I've played a lot). It had its flaws, but I'll sign up right now to get them back and revert back to beta.
There's also a number of issues I've experienced since release, while the beta version worked almost flawlessly. That... just doesn't make sense...
