Months after the final release, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is still going strong. The minigame-turned-esport continually goes through iterations and patches, shedding skins and morphing into a real beast of a card game. It has a wistful past, a solid present, and a bright future.

Returning from Beta, now I am hooked
I was in the Beta, didn't click with the game at first. Played other popular CCGs, mostly because they had mobile versions and Gwent didn't. I came back this year and I really enjoy the strategy that Gwent offers. The games I lose I walk away from learning something, either a mechanic, a combo, or a strategic decision. I also really enjoy the lore more and since I've read, played, and watched more Witcher, I enjoy Gwent's themes and factions more than before.

A great game, but a bit grindy
I found the game to be very fun, engaging and skill-demanding. Very interesting metas to experiment it, although Monsters are pretty hard to beat early on. One thing I found hard, being broke, was to experiment. Could never afford to try different metas with limited materials and also couldn't switch decks easily as the only way I could make a competent deck in another faction would be to grind most of my current ones. Overall, would recommend.

All luck, no skill
Despite the numerrous mechanics it all comes down to pure luck. There is no bluffing, no strategy, every game is decided entirely by your luck of card draw. The mechanics only obfuscate this.
