FREE TO PLAY THAT’S WORTH YOUR TIME
A fair and fun progression system turns the effort of building a competitive collection of cards into pure pleasure — simply collect new cards to build decks with as you play GWENT; no strings attached.
STUNNING, ALL ACROSS THE BOARD
Beautiful, hand-drawn art and mesmerizing visual effects breathe life into every card, battle and battlefield, making GWENT fun to play and every duel a joy to watch.
SKILL BEATS LUCK
Crush the enemy with brute strength or outsmart them with clever tricks — no matter your deck, GWENT’s unique round-based gameplay opens up a world of strategic possibilities to play with when fighting for victory.
MORE THAN ONE WAY TO PLAY
Whether it’s a quick online game against a friend, a highly competitive PvP challenge, or something new and wildly adventurous like the Arena, GWENT’s selection of game modes has got you covered.
EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY
Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.
NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS
You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
CDPR either hire a new card design team or give up, the cards in this game are clearly designed by people who have no idea what they are doing. Stick to RPGS
First of all, something about the many negative reviews:
Many of the reviews here are outdated and from people, who disliked the game, NOT because it sucks (as many say), but because it was different. It had a rough start, but started off by fixing fundamental problems the beta version had and started off with a solid base set of cards to expand on it. That was in the past, now lets fast forward a few months to the present...
Gwent is in its best shape. gwent is out for like 3 months and it had two major balance changes, strong gameplay changes that enhanced the player experience and made the game more enjoyable by introducing a better mulligan and leader provision system. There was, very recently, also the leaders update which introduced five new leaders, one for every faction, together with a new season of the boar reward book page with many new nodes and trinkets like a new pig board.
All that content while fixing bugs and delivering events like changing arena modes, keg events and the all new faction challenge witha ll faction fighting for the win. It has a new interface, faction specific quests and players can track what faction is winning at the moment.
For gameplay you should try it out for yourself.
Now the negatives. The game still has some bugs, although theyre rare. There is a cool tutorial, but it doesnt teach a new player nearly enough. As a new player it can be that you feel overwhelmed, in that case ill recommend asking for help on the subreddit or gwent sites like team aretuza. Also the animations are not queueable, which is unfortunate, but might be something theyre working on and it has no drag and drop, which is not a big deal for most, but as a card game player it might take some time to get used to it.
To add to everything, Gwent now has a new Game director Jason Slama, who is widely praised within the community for various reasons.
Gwent is a great game, with a promising looking future. Try it out and dont listen to beta players.
I got the closed beta key in may 14,2017. It was very hard to get cards and leaders so I quit after open beta came out I got some rewards and finally had cards to play. I had a lot of fun until midwinter update and I quit again, when HC came out I tried and quit again for 4 month. You know what I started again since CC came out and I had a full collection 90% premium cards, thats the generosity of Gwent.
After two big fails Gwent finally goes on the right direction, steadly updates, seasonal fun mode, special challenges, lovely rewards...
I think the urgent problem is cards balances, I was just building a Eldain traps deck and I found a lot of cards after nerf are completely unusable, now most decks are high provision cards and the rest are just 4p trash, there are few 6/7 p cards good. Still too many neutral cards are auto include which has nothing to do with their synergy. But I have hope they will do something in next updates.
This is the best Collectible Card Game ever!
It's extremely generous as a free to play card game and you can definitly earn your collection really fast. Of course you can also spend money to make it a bit faster and support the awesome devs as well.
CDPR listens to the community and actively updates and polishes the game, so you should really try it out, maybe it's the game you were looking for all life!

- Unique gameplay. Forget about Magic-like games, here there’s no mana, no face damage, no combat between creature. You have to win 2 rounds out of 3 to win a game simply by having more points than your opponent. No card draw between turns but only between rounds so you need to manage your resources. Knowing when to lose is the key to win!
- Economy. Probably the most generous card game on the market with an incredible rewards system. You don’t even need to win games to gain rewards points but only single rounds. Rewards points can be spent in the reward book to gain: Ore to buy card packs (kegs), Scraps to craft cards or Meteorite Powder to craft premium version of the cards (Premiums are only aesthetically enhanced version of a normal cards). In the reward book you can also unlock borders, avatars, titles, skin for your leader and cardbacks.
-Game modes
Gwent have basically every mode you can ask for. Constructed have both a casual and ranked (with extra rewards) mode plus a special seasonal (monthly) mode with extra rules and quest. For Arena/Draft players there’s also an Arena mode.
-Graphics
The best looking game on the market. Cards are superb and every card have a fully animated version.
-Low rng
Gwent decks have only 25 cards and you draw a minimum of 16 cards. Some cards have rng effect but it’s always manageable.
Balance and bugs fix
-Balance changes are made monthly. Bug fixes are made asap.
-Development
Devs listen to their community a lot. They are ready to change things that don’t work and are very present on their official channels of communication.
Just a tips, stay away from the official forum/reddit. Sadly the gwent community is pretty bad, childish, greedy and spoiled.
