EASILY SATISFYING, ANYTHING BUT EASY
Sling cards from your deck across two tactically distinct rows — melee and ranged. Gather more points in the duel against your opponent to win a round. Win two out of three rounds to win the battle. It won’t be easy, but no one said it should be.
NO HOLDING BACK, NO HOLDING HANDS
You start with 10 cards from your deck in hand, able to play each card right from the start. It’s up to you to open the game with your strongest unit, or save the best for later in the fight. How will your deck look and what will your strategy be?
The game requires an online connection to play and offers optional in-game purchases.
I've been playing card games in physical form for almost as long as they've been around. When I played Witcher 3 I ended up losing hours upon hours playing Gwent instead of trying to find Ciri. After that I hoped CDPR would make a standalone Gwent which they did. I've been a pretty consistent playing almost daily. I love how generous the game is with rewards such as keys, kegs, scraps and powder which allows for someone who wishes to be free to play to actually achieve that and get what they need to be competitive with time and practice.
Love this game, have to play a few rounds everyday. Wish the offical release was on xbox/micro store as well instead of having to wait until Dec to play crossplay
Gwent is such a great card game. Its amazing to play it for free because it is so generous, you can play for a month and already have some top tier decks made. CDPR also is a company that always listen to the playerbase so this is a game that evolves always pushing forward.
The game itself is complex and fun, decision making is real and the lore, well, is the witcher universe so it's awesome.
A must play
For a new player the entry cost is very low. This gives the opportunity to play most of the meta decks after a month, hence giving variety and fun, unlike HS where you have to ftp for months in order to get a single decent deck.
People might be complaining due to their preference for beta gwent over the current versions. But with introduction of new cards, the game can be improved indeed. However lets just remember that this is till the base release set before geeting ahead of our expectations. Great game overall.
