GWENT: Rogue Mage

It's Gwent with a story about how and why Alzur created witchers. Gameplay is challenging but fun, definietly have 'one more run' vibe to it. Added treasures and special powers to Gwent cards makes for chaotic fun. Try it before Witcher 4 comes out with a new Gwent cardgame in it :)

Much like Thronebreaker, this game expands on unique enemy mechanics and lore.

Rogue Mage is a rogue-like which the story is very short but still compelling. There are plenty of cards that players needs to repeat playing again and again in order to acquire those cards. This is a repetitive and seems tough in the first few runs but once when players gain more special cards then it is easier. To control this, CDPR adds some penalties to make the game harder which eventually extremely hard. The games is fun and I quite very enjoy but there are a lot of bugs e.g. Istredd draw more than your library then you have to put that many cards back which in Gwent this has been fixed. I wish CDPR allows players to mod the game. Adding more boss nodes or customize the starter deck would be nice.

I though this game would at least be close to Thronebreaker fun-wise, but it's quite far away. The biggest is problem is that your card decks aren't as interesting as the ones the AI has. The AI has these perfect synergies that made me envious and frustrated. Still, if you have nothing else to play, you can sink quite a few hours in the game. I'm giving it 3 starts instead of 2 because it's just 10 euros.
