Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride

Honestly, for a few hours to kill and to try a new genre of games? yes. Do it. The puzzles followed well once you figured out what they were asking (never TOO Difficult) Hints helped out a lot if you didn't know where to go, and the story was tense in a great way. The seek and finds could be a bit hard to figure out, but the main thing is I couldn't figure out how to save. As it got late and I wanted to get to bed, but was near the end but no save system... yeah it was a problem. I don't know if the later games fixed that. I couldn't find an autosave or manual save. But besides that, fun seek and find!

The Good: Absolutely beautiful graphics, a very nice soundtrack, and an overall enjoyable story. Multiple difficulty levels let you cater the game to your preferred mental investment. Also, if you prefer a different challenge, you can skip the hidden object puzzles in favor of a domino game. The Bad: For a Hidden Object game, this one is surprisingly light on actual hidden object puzzles - they are mostly concentrated in the latter half of the game. Also, one portion (lighting a torch) felt like absolute moon-logic, as you can only light it in one very specific location. Overall, an enjoyable game, and worth the investment.

I've played all three Grim Legends games, and while this one isn't the best, it's a good start to the series. It's a classic hidden objects game. The story and voice acting leave something to be desired, but the gameplay itself is fun and worthwhile. If you only pick one Grim Legends game to play, I'd recommend Grim Legends 3, but if you want to play the whole series, I think you'll have fun with all three, including this inaugural game!

Really captures your heart into a fairy tale world which is not what it first seems. Great twists and surprises. A superb story. Amazing graphics / artwork and many types of puzzles. Hints and Skips available. It also autosaves when you quit. Although, after half through, the story becomes so compelling that you want to finish it without taking a break in order to save the day. Am mostly an RPG and D&D aficionado, but this game truly touched my soul. A charming masterpiece!
