GreedFall

I picked it up during the holiday sale. Ive played about 8 hours so far and have enjoyed it. I would reccomend buying it.

I got Greedfall on Steam and found myself falling asleep while playing it. Greedfall is an RPG designed with little to zero ambitition. It does absolutely nothing we haven't already seen in another RPG before, and it's all underdeveloped. The skill trees are linear, character design options are limited, and there wasn't a New Game + last I checked. The openendedness of the world causes the game to suffer from feeling overwhelming, disjointed conversations, no sense of real direction, and I failed to find a reason for I am exploring this wilderness. Because it's there? Not good enough for me. The characters, both your teammates and the MC are equally empty of life. They have problems and history, but they are 2 dimensional, nothing about them feels compelling, or gives me a reason to care about their existence. I will grant, for a small studio, the developers did make the game look nice, and it has very few bugs. But second rate storytelling and undercooked world-building won't save pretty graphics.

...so I don't really know if it's good or not, because I don't want to play it without a gamepad. It's weird, the game picks up other peripherals like some old Unity indie games do, but this is a AA game on a custom engine. I read that the developers want to release DLC for the game still, so I hope they plan to fix the gamepad issues as a part of that.

"Corridored" maps, Yuck... Everything seems to be a, sewn together, frankenstein moster of aspects. Each developed in different direction. I've bounced from it after about 1h. Not a crap, whatsoever, but game is only for masochists.

I just couldn't get into this game. it's clunky and the pacing seems off. When I was given an early mission to find metal dowels so I could fix furniture I just gave up! I thought I was buying a game about having an adventure in a new land to halp save people from some kind of sickness, and here I am fixing furniture instead, wow.
