Graveyard Keeper

I think tutorials could be improved, I had to check the wiki to figure out what to do sometimes, some mechanics/objectives are not very clear like bug gathering (thought I had to actually catch them but the game doesn't say that you have to pick flowers at night and they spawn randomly). It's a shame that you can't move furniture, but the game forces you to destroy it and rebuild it, losing resources in the process. Moving objects is not an overpowered ability to have and it lets you decorate/organize without being punished. Overall it's a fun game once you get past the learning curve

Graveyard Keeper is similar to Stardew in many ways, mostly related to them both being farming sims. I don't think listing those similarities would be very helpful. So, I'm going to list the differences instead. More grind - This game has a tech tree and wants you to focus on progressing through it. I can see this being stressful to some. But, factory sim players may feal more at home. Less focus on relationships - There is no dating nor friendship events in this game. Dark comedic tone - This part will likely be hit or miss for a lot of people. Suffice to say one of the more prominent characters is a talking skull who loves beer. Overall, if you're the kind of person who has played and enjoyed Stardew Valley & Factorio, give this game a shot. It's good. However, if you bounced off those games you probably won't like this either.

I actually prefer playing strategy and RPG games. I was never a big fan of the Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing series, or Stardew Valley although they were great games. But not my cup of tea. Maybe too cute. But with this game, even I got really into it. It's become one of my favorite games. Just so you know: I'm playing the base game with the three add-ons. I'll probably add Better Souls at some point too. The developers make great games, I have no idea where all the very unfair reviews for all of their games come from. Conspiracy? ;) Great entertainment with dark humor. I Luv GOG

Funny, relaxing, with some great moral choices.

Game has some original ideas and cool mechanics, though at one point it becomes Asian-style grindy, which is my problem for why it's not 5/5 and instead 4/5. Stardew valley requires much less grinding to progress.
