Gothic 2 Gold Edition

I've been playing Gothic II for quite a few hours now. This is the first time I have played it. Thank you GOG for putting out another great release of this wonderful RPG. It's a true RPG in every sense ! The game gives you total freedom. The combat is fun and face paced and doesn't get boring, although it does take some getting used too. I patched my game up with a community patch that fixed a lot of issues and a texture pack. I was not able to get this to run on my Windows 7 system. Windows Vista 64 was perfect though. Had no issues. If you're looking for a true RPG with the freedom and a great engaging story then this is a must buy. Not an easy game by any means, but it's how I remember what games USED to be ! I love it!

Gothic 2 is a solid RPG that kept all the fantastic features of Gothic and added more features along with balancing the game more. Everyone should at some point play this game.

I like Gothic is one of the best games I've played. BUt why is the game not in German too. Very sad :( Buy it and Have many Fun!! yours sincerely, c3lL

The original game is awesome. Good old RPG with open world in which your path is limited only by strong creatures, with skills which have to be learned from trainers, with simple but strong story and lots of quests.

Gothic 2 is my favorite game. It is my first RPG that I played and knew what I was doing (more or less) It captured me with beautiful world, funny dialogues, quite good story, various monsters and places to explore or with the fighting system which many consider clumsy, but I find it highly entertaining. Character progression, fun quests, armor....progression in this game is just so rewarding! Moreover - all the stuff that you get to do? Blacksmithing, hunting, alchemy,... - it is all logical and has it's place in the world. Picking among three distinct factions has its fun merits - mage monastery looks spectacular, mercenary farm adventurous and full of mead and fighting for freedom, militia and knighthood honor and mighty fine armor.... just go for it.
