Damn I spent 20 bucks on Gothic 1 and 2 because I had 4 on xbox 360 and thought they maybe worth playing. Unfortunitly I did not read the reviews.. Do not buy this or gothic 1, read the other reviews. No need to repeat. Just an Awful game
what a terrible game. it looks like an early ps1 action rpg. and i don't usually care about graphics but there's a limit.
musics are good, the story is well written but controls make this game unplayable. combats are terrible too. and why in the world a 2002 pc game doesn't allow you to use your mouse to naviguate through the menus??? at first i thought it was a bug, but no, you've got to use arrow keys to do so, even in the inventory screen.
it would be understandable if it was an early 90's game but it's not expected from a 2002 game. it look slike the game was meant for consoles. besides, half of the game feels like a slog.
can't believe morrowind came out the same year. and i've never enjoyed bethesda fake rpgs but god, what a difference between those 2 games.
I convinced a buddy of mine to buy this game for his pc so I could try it out. Two hours later he's screaming at the monitor. So I stop and I'm like "mind if I try" cause he usually sucks at games. About 30 minutes after a new game I too was yelling at the computer screen. After a while I figured out that you had to press movement buttons to swing a weapon. Not only that, but after restarted the game from the beginning I realized that there are no checkpoints anywhere and you have to manually save after every single thing you do. Despite the learning curve the game would be much more fun if these problems were fixed or even addressed/brought to ones attention. There is nothing worse than playing a game that has such a horrible playing mechanics. In fact this is by far the worst game I have ever played. I have played a lot of games, but this one holds a special place to me now. I would never recommend this game to my worst enemy. Its not even the fact that the gameplay sucks, cause it doesn't. Its the fact that the overall mechanics of the controls and the tedious amount of combat you have to use to slay a wolf or bug. Basic npc's that you should be able to use as stepping stones to building up your character. If the rating system were up to me, this game would get ZERO stars.
What was it again? Gothic 2? It was that same old game? Okay, you ask for it.
*after a while or hours lol*
OMG! This is the best rpg I've ever played! Whoa!
Poor controls and a terrible walking and fighting system. I dont even know if its turn based or real time it seems to just be random crap. Half the time you click to attack it does nothing and then when the enemy attacks you have no option to block. When you try to back up the camera freaks out.
Dont buy this game for any reason
