Gothic

The number of 5 star reviews is troubling. A game can be good but not perfect. Gothic has always had one major flaw, one that some people will find unforgivable, and that's the controls. They're awful. But you CAN teach yourself to get used to them and find an enjoyable game. But 5 star game this is not. Neither is it a 1 star game. I struggled between a 2 or a 3, in the end I picked 3 because there is a very deep RPG to be found. It's just... frustrating.

Along side the 2nd game, this is one of the best open ended RPG/Action/Adventure hybrid games there is. There may be a few very minor bugs and the controls can be a bit awkward at first but given time it is up there with Oblivion.

First time you play, it was difficult to understand the controls. But after you play it for a while, You'll find out how fun it is.

I was realy impressed by this game, when i bought it, a view months after the release. Especially the wonderfull presentation with full audio dialogue and a charming world filled of good written characters. This was the first 3D RPG I have seen and it sucked me into a fantastic story. Only minor problem: The controls are quit strange but easy to learn. If you like this game, take a look on Gothic 2, great sequel.

It's a five star classic and many ones have said enough about it below. I just want to ad one thing that might keep others from purchasing it: It is listed the game runs under XP and Vista only, but in my case it also plays perfect under 8.1, so it should be running under Windows 7, too.
